Hey everyone, Rich here with some bonus material. Rather thoughtfully, Sony released the beta for its 1440p mode for PlayStation 5 literally days after I returned from vacation - time enough to partially recover from jet lag, in fact. First order of business: to see if/how it works and whether we can capture it.

The good news is that VRR support aside, it does work - and at 60Hz and 120Hz in both SDR and HDR. And from a Digital Foundry workflow perspective, what this means is that we can now capture 120Hz footage from both Xbox Series *and* PlayStation 5 at 1440p resolution, and indeed analyse performance. To quote Jensen: it just works.

To 'prove it out', here's some performance analysis of Bright Memory Infinite - John asked me to capture it and whether in head-to-head form like this or via individual clips, you may well see some of this footage in his upcoming video on the game (it's pretty good!). However, it will be at 60fps since that is the limit of YouTube - including the video embed above. So why not share the actual 120fps video with supporters. Here you go - and you're welcome.

Something I didn't mention in the body text here, but Bright Memory Infinite in 120Hz mode renders at 1440p resolution, hence the decision to use this title, in addition to helping out John with his #content!

This looks like the type of game that really benefits from high framerate, nice!
