Hello, it's Rich here! Welcome to Week 20 of 2022. As usual, the Digital Foundry #content meeting occurred earlier, and here are the minutes of that meeting for your perusal. It's safe to say that we're in something of a software draught at the moment, but we're digging deep to keep you entertained with some great stuff.

* John is currently on week two of the PlayStation 3 1080p 'dream' DF Retro video. This one should be complete over the next few days and let's just say there's some amazing stuff in there. It should be going live to Retro supporters over the weekend which means that - yes! - the Motorstorm DFR will be made public, available to all, perhaps mid-week? We'll see.

* Alex is circling back to cover Halo Infinite Season 2 and the upgrades to PC and Xbox Series consoles, plus a critique of the game elements that still haven't been addressed since launch.

* Oliver has completed the Trek to Yomi piece which throws up some fascinating results. This will be going up on early access as soon as possible. After this, he moves on to look at how the original set-top box Xbox One is holding up in the cross-gen era. Remember that the One S - which we use exclusively for testing these days - has a GPU overclock that also benefits ESRAM bandwidth.

* Tom is still working on the Nvidia Reflex/input lag project and has also interviewed Rebellion Software - the unsung heroes of Nintendo Switch development - about Zombie Army 4, Sniper Elite 4 and how the team has managed to deliver ports that look so close to their PS4 counterparts.

* Rich (ie me) - still labouring on the mid-gen/next-gen console prognostications!

Other stuff? A while back, Lance McDonald tweeted that getting 30fps working properly within From Software titles is a one-line code fix. Could this be the case? We're getting together the code and the 'jailbreak' PS4 required to put this to the test. We're also chasing IO Interactive about the upcoming Hitman 3 RT upgrade, plus trying to figure out how to test XeSS (due this week in Dolmen) in a world where Arc GPUs were only ever released in laptop form in South Korea for a few minutes.

I mean, if any one has any ideas on how to source an Arc laptop, do let us know! Or maybe you own one and could do capture for us? A shot in the dark but one worth taking. In the meantime, have a great week!

Can’t wait for the From Software 30 fps fix investigation

It’s ill you guys reach out to the community for capture/ access to a device with the Arc GPU. I can’t help, but that’s dope shit.

Tatsu123

What the hell are you talking about? He was on a retro video just yesterday.

Base Xbox One analysis? Gimme.

Audi is still with us but has been away due to a combination of the Limited Run thing and being sick. He's back this week and will be editing the Direct and some more retro content. He's going nowhere!

Love to see how the Xbox One is holding up today. Rich would you consider doing a video about how the devs develop games in the Xbox One giving that the arquitecture is different than the PS4 (ESRAM, etc), how the fought with the memory configuration, and the bandwidth limitations, and how they optimize the around the ESRAM. It could an interesting video

Rich, have also heard Arc-based laptops hard to find. But why would you need one? XeSS is supposed to work via DP4a (on any recent GPU) when XMX is not available right? Or am I mistaken?

DarkRod99

I think that the XeSS is not coming in the day one patch like the devs said it looks like Intel shot him down, it's a shame really. https://videocardz.com/newz/intel-xess-is-not-launching-with-dolmen-this-week
