Hey you, yeah YOU, we want your questions and we want them now! Because yes, it is indeed time for another friendly round of DF Direct Weekly! There'll be some Playstation service talk, we'll probably talk some Breath of the Wild 2, but what is it that you fancy us answering? Leave it in the comments below!

Rich, where is Audi?? Are you holding him in your dungeon, have you deprived him of Bubsy? I need answers! By the way John! Where is the 2 hour long Bubsy DF retrospective everyone has been asking for?

Any chance for some focused MiSTer FPGA DF Retro content? Ever since seeing it mentioned on a previous DF weekly I can't seem to get enough. Between classic PC emulation which seems right up Alex's alley and all the recent developments including a very robust PSX core, guncon support seems like there's plenty of great content there.

Was PS+++ our last chance to see PS3 games running at 4k, or at least without performance issues? I'd really like to play Factor 5's last game.

As I am living off-grid, I am always mindful of the power consumption of my gaming sessions (high-end games on sunny days only). My consoles and PC are plugged into a watt metre for monitoring, and I've noticed some interesting facts, such as Forza Horizon 5 on XSX using more power in its performance mode vs quality! Do you still monitor power draw when collecting performance metrics to gain additional insights into whether these machines are being pushed to their limits? Or does your watt metre go back in the drawer after initial console launch analysis?

Sony's new PS Plus sub (unsurprisingly) only supports PS3 games via streaming. Do you think the PS5's hardware could be capable of PS3 emulation, at least for most games? Given what RPCS3 has done, I gotta imagine Sony could accomplish much more with their resources and knowledge of the original hardware.

A while back you talked about the potential for the Series S SoC to be used in a a Surface device. Surely there would be enormous cost and energy savings potential. What is stopping AMD and/or Microsoft from making Laptops with big APU's? How far off do you thing we are from such a reality being realized?

The new Unity Enemies realtime trailer looks so realistic, do you think it is surpassing offline CGI in terms of realism? Whilst it may not be fully path traced or be downsampling from a super high resolution, if I watched the CGI film that looked this good I would be pretty happy with it.

Hi. With Tom testing GTA 5 on the Xbox series consoles, is there any benefit to running itv in back compat mode on the series s over the updated version if the benefits are so small? Is there better consistent FPS in back compat in comparison to the updated version? Thanks

Hey gents, This week, some game sites reported on the “4K Gaming Pro”, an HDMI dongle on Kickstarter that promises to upscale your Nintendo Switch and PlayStation 4 output to 4K “with no drop in frames”. Apparently the manufacturer has been working hard last year to improve the technology and reduce the input lag. Is correlation compensation a proper way of upscaling or would this result in artifacts and overly sharp images? Would love to hear your thoughts on this.

Hey guys I have a 2018 Samsung QE55Q8F which according to Samsung supports a form of VRR called 'FreeSync' when in 'Game Mode'. This is an HDMI 2.0 display with a maximum refresh rate of 60Hz@4K. What I want to know is: will this screen support VRR on my Series X and my PS5? Most people are saying that VRR needs HDMI 2.1 which confuses me.

Hey guys What's more dealbreaker for you, outdated graphics, or outdated gameplay?

Hello DF, about the news of the new tier system in PS plus, do you think that the heavy criticism of the streaming PS3 games is justified? I mean the development of the emulator, plus the QA time for all the titles could take years. I think people are not looking at the business feasibility and amount of work of doing emulation of the PS3, RPCS3 devs have told, that doing emulation of PS3 games is a lot of work, since the arquitecture is so different,

Apparently Sony are looking into emulation that would allow downloading of PS3 games. However you’re right, optimisation of individual titles could take years and I can’t see it being worth it. I think a fair compromise would be to have a curated list for download with popular titles added overtime and rest available as streaming.
