Hey everyone, Rich here to announce that the weekend officially begins NOW - a touch late owing to me having board meetings to attend this week, delaying filming. But here we are, with deep dive chats on the Nvidia Switch Pro leak, Steam Deck and of course, Elden Ring. We also tackle more supporter questions than ever before.

This marks a full year since DF Direct Weekly launched - thanks in no small part to the efforts of Audi Sorlie, who architected the whole thing and has edited every episode! Thanks for watching, thanks for supporting - and thanks to Audi for making it happen.

And yes, there's a supporter-exclusive RSS feed access for early access! Access this link, provide your  Patreon credentials and you should be good to go: https://open.acast.com/public/patreon/fanSubscribe/593963

Great Elden Ring discussion, thanks for answering my question.

Thanks for answering my question about acoustics! That's a bummer that it is loud, I was considering getting it to play around the house without having to sit at a desk so that definitely makes me question getting one.

Video error- 14:31 to 14:38, errors in certain video elements not appearing, including Alex and Tom’s videos as well as the background. Just wanted to let you know in case you wanted to fix it before the video goes public on Monday.

Great show, love the nerdy technical discussion. Re 8K: i think that this may be the realm of VR. If we really go for photorealistic experiences there with no screen door effect and a lifelike fov.

Thank you guys! Congratulations on your one year anniversary. I am so happy you began doing these. It’s a pleasure to tune in every week. The subjects you discuss go deep and are very informative. Thank you to Audi as well for his editing skills. Cheers to many more DF Weekly’s!

Can someone ELI5 why stuttering related to shader compilation has only cropped up as a problem with DirectX 12, when shaders have been a thing in PC graphics for over 20 years?
