In an Ask 343 livestream this March or April, I believe it was confirmed that the pacific northwest biome shown in the new campaign demo was the only "biome" present in the campaign. Devs said there would be some variation (snow on a mountain, war-torn areas), but it doesn't seem like we're getting desserts and jungles too.

Had a blast making this!

This is correct. In that March Q&A the devs answered a question directly on whether or not this PNW biome was the only one in the game and they made it clear that it is. They said that there is variety of terrain through sub-biomes such as high mountain areas, caves, war torn areas, swamps, interiors of forerunner and banished structures, etc. but I still have some concern that this PNW biome will feel too “samey” after a short period of time due to lack of true biome variety. It’s interesting because some of the art of Zeta Halo show sandy areas. Perhaps we will get to experience some of these locations through DLC. The way they talk about the game as a “10 year” live service experience makes me think that future campaigns may come to the game set within Zeta Halo. I’ll be interested to see where this campaign leaves off and if it is open-ended enough for them to release future campaigns on the same halo. Another interesting piece of information from that Q&A is that there won’t be any traditional “cutscenes” in the game. Everything will be rendered in real time. So if you initiate a “cinematic” moment it will occur at whatever time of day you’re currently playing the game. You won’t run into a scenario where you’re playing at night and then you initiate the main mission and suddenly it’s daytime in the cinematic. They also made it seem as though the camera won’t ever cut away (similar to God of War) or at least not often, but I’m not sure if I understood that entirely correctly
