Finally, the very first edition of Magazine Memories is here! In this  show, we revisit the classic gaming magazines from the 80's, 90's and  even early 2000's to see what the latest news, rumors and gossip was at  that time. This time around, John and Audi take a look at issue 122 of  Electronic Gaming Monthly. Yes, it is the 9.9.99 issue where the  editorial, as well as the readers seem quite... middling on the  Dreamcast? Find out why as we read along!

Loved this! Would also be excited if you did some of these as live streams in the future and brought in the guys from MLiG or CGQ since they have been doing these magazine reads as well

Computer Games and Video Entertainment #27. The super famicom preview issue. I vividly being stuck on a family reunion trip and going over this issue over and over again, being amazed at the screenshots of super mario world. https://archive.org/details/vgce_91-04

Just hanging out, doing magazine stuff. Good times.

Hmm I have this CVG issue (got tons of EGM, CVG, Super Play, TOTAL and Mean Machines still) so this is a good suggestion. -Audi

I loved the chat history lesson on WCW Mayhem. Thanks Audi. There is actually a rumour going round that if the next WWE2K game doesn't meet expectations that EA will be taking over the licence.

What's this talk about a DF Retro Play for Hydro Thunder?

A really nice trip down memory lane. It's crazy how many big series started around that time.

This was great guys. I remember favouring the Official PS Magazine (UK), mainly as they had playable demos. I have fond memories of devouring the screenshots of the latest tekken, resident evil or final fantasy game and while the month between copies used to seem like an eternity the dearth of gaming news used to make my imagination go wild and Id find myself creating whole scenarios and game play mechanics from a few tiny screenshots of mgs2.

I would love to see Next Generation Magazine featured here. I particularly liked the 12/99 War For The Living Room issue.
