We Are Looking For Contributors (Patreon)

Update: I wanted to thank everyone who has contacted me about this. I'm actually humbled and overwhelmed by the response, which has seen 44 people (so far!) come forward to offer their help. I'm going to leave this appeal open for a couple more days then will endeavor to contact you all.
Original Post: Hi everyone, Rich here. I think the title here tells you pretty much everything you need to know! Working on Digital Foundry isn't easy and while we've taken steps to make our lives a little easier, the bottom line is that we have to work harder to achieve a better work/life balance and at the same time we want to open up what we do to get more voices heard - so to cut a long story short, we are looking for contributors.
This isn't going to be easy because the ideal (note: ideal, not essential) list of requirements in a candidate is pretty big - ideally you'd own the new consoles and a reasonably powerful PC. You'd also have a fat internet pipe because transferring 4K video assets is a sizeable undertaking. And let's not talk about capture cards and NVMe storage - for now at least. More importantly, you'd have the background understanding to figure out why games do what they do.
That's the ideal scenario, right? I mean it would be awesome if we were to discover the next John Linneman or Alex Battaglia through this process - but to be honest, we'd be happy to accept help in other ways, even if it's just providing capture, performance data and comparison clips and from there, we could pick up the reins. Or alternatively, you may have insight into areas that we don't cover and where you can add something new to what we do! I think the key point is that even if you aren't the 'complete package' but want to get involved, we could use the help, providing guidance and equipment if there's potential to progress.
Drop me a line via info@digitalfoundry.org if you're interested! And just to note, this would be paid work.
