Update: Wow, we're used to the schedule changing during the week, but during the last few hours, we've made some alterations to this week's plans. John will be following up his Crysis work with a look at the freshly minted Hellblade Xbox Series patch and assuming timing works out, Rich will be collating all the new Steam Deck information!

Hello everyone, it's Rich here with your weekly breakdown of what is happening in the world of Digital Foundry, written in the wake of our Monday morning #content meeting.

* John recently revisited Crytek HQ and interviewed key members of the Crysis team - all going well, you'll get to see that video tomorrow, along with your first look at Crysis 2 Remastered running on PlayStation 5 hardware.

* Alex is back on vacation this week, but as I'm somewhat busy, he'll be taking point on an analysis of DLSS Ultra Performance mode viewed within the context of its possible deployment on the next-generation Switch.

* Will is going to be producing a text review of the Radeon RX 6600 XT in time for its embargo lift. I'm not sure we'll have time to do a video for this, but plans are afoot to return to this piece of hardware with a different spin. Tech-wise, PlayStation 5's RDNA 2 GPU sits pretty much between this and the 6700 XT, so maybe we'll do some proper game comparisons in addition to the usual benchmarks.

* Tom continues on his special project, but we're still looking to get his Shadow of the Tomb Raider content done.

* Rich (ie me) is set to finish up an Nvidia laptops video before moving onto testing of a couple of HDMI 2.1 monitors - the 55-inch Philips Momentum and a more plausibly sized 27-inch Acer.

We're essentially a man down this week so it may be a little quieter, so please bear with us! Retro content? A call for questions has already gone out for the next Retro Q+A, while some coverage of the Zool remaster may also be in the offing...

I’ve been wondering for weeks what Tom’s special project is. Can’t wait!

One more thing! I may produce a video that sums up the new Steam Deck revelations from the latest press event. Truth is, I was invited to visit but unfortunately, UK residents are prohibited from entering the US according to a Presidential Decree (!) so we weren't able to do anything.

Looks like a good week. Thanks for all the hard work.

I would love if you link DF’s written content to your videos or the Patreon

Good. No useless questions from me this week then (hopefully) I'm ready to intake all that Steamy Deck info :)

Ah, too bad, would have loved to see direct DF impressions. No way they'll at least let you do a remote interview instead? I'm assuming you'd have some more in depth questions that haven't been covered by other media.

That is really unfortunate, but "only" hearing your thoughts and evaluation of what was shown in all the other previews is invaluable!

I want to know just everything there is to know about the Steam Deck :D Maybe you can check the current state of Proton and Gaming on Linux in general to get a first impression on how well (frametimes, FPS, CPU usage) games are running?

I have been devouring Steam Deck videos. Glad to hear you guys are putting more related content out!

Same would love more of a deep dive of the Steam Deck from Rich after he gets to go hands on with it though I'm guessing Valve are limiting access to US-based media for the time being.

The steam deck is being way overhyped. By time the thing is out it won't run things very well. It barely runs current things... Just look at the performance of the Apu and imagine the same thing 12 months from now. No ty.

Thanks for the update! I'm looking forward to seeing Tom's Special Project :3 I know this was asked before but I'm wondering if or when the DF Direct will be available as audio only on podcast platforms. I'd love to listen to you guys on the go rather than sitting on my PC at home!
