Hi everyone, Rich here. We've got a video going up soon where John, Alex and Audi go back to play the original Dead Space on period-appropriate hardware - a Q6600/8800GT PC and an Xbox 360. Watching the content for quality review today, it reminded me of an old series we started but never really took any further - the liveplay.

The joke of the liveplay of course was that it wasn't live. But it was essentially about trying to do a tech analysis in real-time in games where we can share the same space - which inevitably involved John and Alex spending decades looking at ground textures while I got bored and attempted to make thing more interesting, usually by trying to blow up things. And who can forget Alex's detailed exploration of the toilets in Half-Life 2: https://www.digitalfoundry.net/2019-05-15-half-life-2-ray-tracing-live-play-mod-showcase-on-source-engine

The thing about liveplays is that they never actually seemed to get much of an audience, but after watching the Dead Space vid, I was reminded of the Battlefield one and re-watched it through for the lulz and had a great time. Could this be some kind of cool supporter bonus? #LetUsKnowInTheCommentsBelow

Battlefield 5 Firestorm PC Live Play: RTX 2080 Ti vs Ryzen 3 2200G vs RX 580 + More!

Asus ROG Strix RTX 2080 Ti and 2080 Ti Founders Edition used in this testing. An earnest attempt to discuss the technology of Battlefield 5 Firestorm in real-time, under fire, across a range of PC configs goes disastrously wrong in the second Digital Foundry three-way PC Live Play. But amongst the ineptitude, we have got a bunch of great hardware to test with, including RTX 2080 Ti, RX 580 and Ryzen 3 2200G... and can an RTX gaming laptop lock to 60fps? Being new here... Just the description itself is making me excited. I feel like there so much potential here... For fun... And science :D... Couple that with the Discord crowd live commenting... Similar to Retro.. Party Time!

I miss the liveplays, I kinda wish they could come back in some form. The half-life 2 one was my favorite for the exact reason mentioned, Alex staring at floors and toilets while Rich is getting visibly bored lol

I always enjoyed the liveplays. Was fun to "hang out" with you guys, as you wandered around a game and checked out its tech, graphics, history, etc.

I remember watching the Battlefield 5 "Live stream" and i loved it. It was fun seeing you guys having fun capturing footage and comparing it "live" Like not even 2 weeks ago i was thinking of that video and wondering why you didn't continue doing that kind of content.

Ok I'm gonna add to my comment since now I'm watching this. This is awesome! Truly... I feel like we could have Audi as the 4th person there if not playing then reading our comments LIVE to you guys.which would make it actual Live Play... I would honestly call this DF Party Time!

I’m a new member and catching up on all the bonus material. I remember actually laughing out loud watching this. I think this is why I love the DF directs you have now. We get to enjoy all of your personalities in a more unfiltered RAW presentation.
