Hi everyone - Rich here. It's time for some more early access and this time it's the first full 120fps video we've made. It's unfortunate that our primary video platform maxes out at 60fps, but rest assured, all relevant components in this content are captured at 120fps and by downloading it, you can see *everything* - like Patrick Stewart in Extras.

The catch? Owing to HDMI 2.0 limitations on PS5, 1080p120 is the best we can get, so it's a 1080p video. Hopefully at some point we'll see a 2.1 capture card, or the next best thing - 1440p support on PS5 (I wouldn't get your hopes up there) - which would would allow for 1440p120 videos, as Xbox already supports this.

Anyway, I hope you enjoy the video. It goes beyond simple comparisons and tries to explain how back-compat plus works on both systems and what the limits are. The fact that Warzone is now a 120Hz app does suggest that there is some movement in those limits on the Sony side, but ultimately, we'll see back-compat die away in favour of native apps - and Warzone is already receiving a proper 'next-gen' update. Warzone is also interesting in that it's a brilliant showcase for VRR displays - again, something Sony needs to sort out.

Call of Duty Warzone 120Hz PS5 Upgrade vs Xbox Series X: Back-Compat Evolved?

Warzone now runs at 120fps on both Xbox Series X *and* PlayStation 5! But how good is the upgrade, are there any bugs, and how do the consoles compare running flat-out on a 120Hz screen. Over and above that, how does back-compat really work for the new consoles and how come we see such variances in results from one game to the next? Rich has some answers. NOTE: This video was completed *before* Activision released the fifth texture pack. This video was masterered at 120fps and is available to watch at full frame-rate via the DF Supporter Program. Finally! I was waiting for you guys to say something about this, since it seems like a pretty big deal that ps4 games are finally able to run at 120hz on ps5.
