Hello there, it's Rich here, with the weekly call for questions for the next episode of DF Direct Weekly. As usual when collating Direct topics, there's not a huge amount to discuss, but right now we're looking at the leaked RDNA 4 and potential PS5 Pro RT features, we'll be talking about the No Man's Sky datamining with PS5 Pro settings and... well, John was quite taken at the Iiyama Vision Master Pro CRT running at 700Hz with a majestic 240x130 resolution. Good for the OG Ark port on Nintendo Switch?

Of course, there has been some follow-up on the Intel CPU issue we talked about last week, while the delay in launch of Ryzen 9000 is certainly interesting - but there's not necessarily enough for us to get our teeth into there... so please feel free to suggesting topics for us!

Beyond that, it's all about Q+A, right? As always - whether it's the discussion points of the week, or just anything really - please do insert your questions in the comments box that is now and forever shall be 'below'. Thanks!

Dr Ian Cutress has suggested that the Ryzen 9000 delay is due to a typo on the packaging. Whether that means the IHS or the cardboard box, the suggestion doesn't really make sense to me.

1) If the IHS is the issue, then shipping all parts back from various retailers for erasing and re-laser etching is going to take more than two weeks. Replacing those chips from the factory would also take more than two weeks unless they went with very expensive air frieght... which would be a monumentally stupid business decision.

Hello DF Team! I have three questions this week Could microsoft add generic versions of their original Xbox and Xbox 360 emulator applications to allow the users to play unnapproved games from a disc to get around licensing issues? Why don't you think Sony has opted for disc based backwards compatibility like Xbox has? What makes a good HDR implementation, and why does it seem to be so rare in games? You've all mentioned Gran Turismo 7, Gears 5 and Ori 2 as some of the best HDR games, and I definitely agree that they look awesome in HDR, but I don't have a trained eye, what is the criteria that leads you to give these games higher praise than others? What are some ways that developers can improve their game's HDR? Thank you!

Happy Half Fortnight thy Digital Luddites, Intel has partnered with the Olympics to broadcast the games in 8K to "select locations and platforms". They will be using new and improved compression and decrompression technology that leverages their latest GPU and CPU hardware. Is Richard now sorely regretting his pixelated, antiquated; 4K "display"? Are developments and competition in upscaling going to put 8K back on the menu.. or is that just too many "fake pixels" to contemplate?

Has anyone had a chance to check out Intel's AI Playground which is a text-to-image and image-to-image generative tools that use Stable Diffusion 1.5?
