(Slightly) Early Access: OMEN Transcend 14: High-End Gaming on a Thin & Light Notebook [Sponsored] (Patreon)
Content
Hi everyone, some Saturday early access viewing while DF Direct Weekly #161 is cooking.
So, this video is rather interesting as it's a video I've been wanting to make for a long, long time and sponsorship actually made it happen. Typically, when gaming laptops are reviewed, they're benchmarked like a desktop PC and fall short - and to be clear, there are definitely some issues with GPU naming in the mobile space. But what if you treated gaming laptops as a kind of hybrid of consoles and PC handhelds - targeting efficiency, best bang for the buck etc. This video is the result, I loved making it and I hope you enjoy it too.
Here's the blurb: the OMEN Transcend 14 is a 14-inch thin and light laptop with the latest Intel Core Ultra 9 CPU, paired with Nvidia's RTX 4070 in 65W form - so to what extent can it game? By combining console-class optimised settings, Nvidia DLSS spatial upscaling and even frame generation, we can achieve PS5-class visual features and more - with ray tracing and even path-tracing in the mix. All PC capture in this video taken directly from the OMEN Transcend 14.
