So...It's been kind of a madcap week for us. We ended up going on a sprawling adventure throughout our home state of Louisiana. Long-story-short...I've inherited 2.5 acres of land.

Short-story-long, my mother passed away some 12 years ago. Before she died, my mom somehow managed to acquire 20 acres of land and divvied it all up to various family members. I was one of them. For some reason, it's taken all this time to finalize everything, but...yeah. Leslie and I are now the proud owners of roughly two football fields worth of woods.

What the hell can we do with two football fields worth of woods, you ask? Well, to be honest, we can't really sell it. It's surrounded by family land and we're the furthest back plot away from the road. Plus, it's not exactly a poppin' area. It's kind of in the middle of nowhere. So, Leslie and I are going to do the sensible thing and put a house on it. We've been kinda getting sick of city apartment life, and honestly, a nice private acre in the woods sounds perfect for us. We're looking into house-building stuff, and there's some house-building companies that are...well, not cheap, but not as expensive as you think. So, we're gonna try for it! We're gonna hustle our asses off and work towards a nice little shack in the woods. We might make this a milestone, like help keep us at a certain amount so we can manage to get a house to plop on these woods. I hope you'll continue to support us in this endeavor! It's kind of weird to think that this is happening but, hey, when life gives you lemons, right?
