Hey folks. We're back! 

When someone fails a check, it should be followed up by another check that gives them a chance to correct the problem, but that doesn't immediately result in the biggest possible fuck-up.

You fail to intimidate the soldier, but he's compliant -- and looking for a way to screw you over.

You fail to spot that he's going to sound the alarm -- but you have a chance to react as his hand reaches for it.

Advertise the consequences on a first failure. Let them move closer on a second failure. The actual consequences of failure tend to be less fun than narrowing escaping the jaws of certain doom, and setting up tiered checks like this helps create that situation more often.
