So... exonerating your father is a great ambition to have but how about solving the mystery of who killed your mother?? Did I miss where Barry was remotely interested in finding out what actually happened?

Can we address that the alibi plotline makes no sense, especially for as much time and energy the movie put into it? First, there was one camera in this entire grocery store and nothing at the counter - you know, where the money is? No witnesses in the building that could have testified? But even worse, the movie portrays it that the dad showed up at the house right after the murder happened - Barry hears the murder from upstairs, sees dad walking up from the car, and he's back in the house soon enough to hold her before Barry can get there. So, I ask, what would the alibi prove anyway? That he couldn't have sped home from the grocery store to get home 1 minute earlier to do the murder? And many others have pointed out how there is no curiosity on who actually did kill his mom. Just a lot of emotional investment into nonsense.
