What the hell. I almost always take my phone out during trailers if I arrive too early and just try to zone out and be unsullied and concentrate on playing Flickchart. It's been my go to thing whenever I have a few minutes with nothing to do since the TRS days. Also, I NEVER take out my phone during the movie and even turn the brightness down in case it could light up in my pants.

Re: assigned seat etiquette/moving seat strategy I do a lot of my ticket purchases through the fandango app and it’s quite nice because there is a function that allows you to “Check Seats” for any given showing where reserved seating is being used. So if you want to move seats last minute for any reason, you can check to see which seats are open and which aren’t! Very useful as I move seats a ton in empty theatres if people around me are unmasked + showing symptoms or seem like they’ll be disruptive
