Not remarking on The Slap, but re: the Oscars conversation, the idea to cut 8 awards from the main ceremony and edit them in later came from a mandate by ABC, who originally wanted the Academy to cut 12 awards from the show completely. Either way, I agree that it turned out less than adequately.

Love this podcast so much but just re: Tony Hawk/Bond discussion - does Caroline not know what G.O.A.T. stands for? It’s an acronym not a metaphor.
