How are you doing my beautiful people?

I'm doing great. Was sick last week. Lasted 3 or 4 days, but I'm back on my feet and STILL managed to deliver two pics last week so I'm happy.

Also, I texted with Tracy Scops twice last week, and I am happy to say that things are coming along nicely. Her answers also feel chipper (yeah, I know! I learned English watching Tarantino's movie and Gilligan's Island), so I think/hope she's feeling better. We should get the first issue coming out soon.

BTW... can I just gush over Tracy for a few minutes? One of the reasons I love working with her, other than the fact that I think she's a genially talented writer, is that she's so god damn nice and easy to work for. She'll send me notes from time to time, of course, but there's always a good reason for it. The Juggernaut issues, as an example, had a particular number of notes. Mostly to make him look bigger (I'm not an avid X-men reader and I didn't realize how big he was until AFTER I finished drawing the issue... also, size play is hard) and because I kinda forgot to leave space for the text bubbles on that one?!?! That was dumb on my part.

But for all those notes I got on that particular issue, I can also pinpoint quite a few places where she didn't say anything and just taken to herself to make corrections... and let me tell you, it's not an easy thing to do to correct the art of someone so flawlessly, especially if you can't draw. And every time I notice those I would write to her something like: "You know, you could have asked and I would have been happy to correct that for you" and she would answer something like: "I know, but you did such a great job, I didn't want to bother you with something so small."... No joke. She's the more agreeable / hard-worker editor I ever worked with.

Case and point: On the next issue "The Marvelous". The colored pages she got weren't great. I don't want to knock on the colorist. They did a great job at drawing the light at the right place, and apparently their "flats" are very professionally made. And let's be honest: it's not like Tracy is paying us what Marvel can; Corners will be cut. But in the end, their choices of colors where questionable and there was absolutely no sense of mood to the pages. When I saw that, I was devastated! To the point where I would have suggested to Tracy to just go with the Black and White version instead.

But that's not what she did. She (NOT being an artist herself) took on herself to color correct every page and is doing a FANTASTIC job at it! I wish I could show you guys the before and after pictures. She is adding so much to those pages, it is mind blowing! And I want you guys to know this... Because she deserves ALL the praises on that one.

We are still scheduled for another collab next month. I have honestly been getting nervous about that since the last two issues are still waiting to be delivered. I wasn't sure I could justify working on a 3rd one in these conditions. But seeing all that she did and knowing the first one should be delivered really soon, is reassuring.

Ok, so... that's it for now.

As I said (last week, I think) the next 4 commissions are quite involving so I doubt I'll be able to draw more than one a week, but I'll try my best to give you guys a 2nd picture every week.

Don't forget to send some love to your mothers next weekend!

Don’t stress about the second pics or if it’s okay to be doing another issue. The other issues have been great and I personally can’t wait for marvelous 😍. We are here because we appreciate everything you create for us. Thank you for everything and I eagerly await your work 😀

I'm blushing so hard I may need to take an Advil or a Tylenol to take a few degrees on my body temperature. Those are the kindest words! I'm not sure I'm all that, but I do try to put the prettiest comics out in my releases. And in all honesty, anything less that awesome coloring is just an offense to your.. erm... MARVELOUS lineart. Thank you so much for being so kind.
