How are you doing my beautiful people?
I had a full week. I managed to do everything I had planed. But I had planed way too much. And only managed to draw the last thing yesterday morning.
Still, I'm happy with the result. My only gripe is that I don't really have anything to show you at the moment. I feel like I shouldn't have accepted two collabs with Tracy back to back, but It felt like a good idea at the time :P
Anyway. First issue is finally done and I'm about to start the second comic. I glanced the script yesterday. This one feels simpler and should go quicker, but I have a bunch of research to do to make it fit where it should fit in the main universe (Sorry, I'm purposely vague... Tracy likes to keep thing hush hushed before the cover reveal).
On a personal note, I had a weird day yesterday. I felt super aggressive for some reason. I called a friend. She let me rant in her ear for about 15 min before I had the decency to ask what they where doing: "Oh, we are out skiing." I really don't deserve her in my life :)
I ended up watching a bunch of Scooby-Doo to take my mind of things. I started with the new "Velma" show... it's not good.
So I switched to "Trick or Treats Scooby-Doo!" Which I absolutely LOVED. It's a love letter to the past, while also updating the character. Velma finally has her first crush on a woman. Daphne has an existent crisis about her role on the team, stuff like that. While it's different, the formula is still there and it works. And the animation quality is a step above the majority of the chapters of the franchise. Coco is AMAZING!
The funny thing was: my first reaction to classic Velma. She looked pale to me, and I had to actually remind myself that it was her classic look. To be honest, my favorite version of her is the latina version from "Scoob!" That version was perfect. She looked great, felt like positive representation, had some dialogue lines and expressions in spanish, and those moments felt natural.
That movie might not have been classic a Scooby-Doo adventure, and felt a lot more like the failed jump start of the WB animated shared universe than an actual movie, but it was a fun watch and as I say, has my favorite version of Velma in it.
Alright...
That's it for now.
See you guys soon!

PS: For the record, the best thing Scooby Doo ever produced is "Scoobynatural", where the Winchester brothers end up in an episode to the classic series. Great Scooby Doo episode, great Supernatural episode ( as long as it's animated anyway) and funny has hell when you hit the mid-way point and the characters realize that the supernatural thing they are investigating is real.
PPS: OH!!! and the best series was "Mystery Inc"... this is a gem
PPPS: I haven't had the chance to watch "a Pup named Scooby Doo". I know it aired around here. but I missed it and only learned of it's existence a few years ago. I hear it was great.
