Hi everyone! I'm not going to lie, this was a bit of a rough month. I've been mostly working on Planet of Bloodthirsty Santa but now that the holidays are over, I'm having a really hard time focusing on it. I thought I'd be able to have it finished by the end of January but I've been getting a lot of anxiety that I'm wasting my time when I should be focusing on other things such as Stay out of the House. POBTS honestly needs a lot of work to get it to where I want it to be. So I'm going to put it off once again and pick it up closer to the holidays or at least after some of the other games are done.

I'm behind on a ton of work and pretty overwhelmed with how I'm going to finish a lot of these games. It's like a hole of stuff I can't dig myself out of and it's causing everything to go slower. I'm going to try to hire more help soon. Hopefully somebody full time! Finding the right person has been a bit of a challenge because I'm constantly working rather than searching and recruiting, but I think it's going to be necessary to wrap up a lot of these older games I've lost the motivation on.

But other than that, there is some good news and a lot of stuff coming out this month!

First of all, I'll be wrapping up Night Watch! I kind of broke this one up into sections but the finale is coming in February. I'd honestly like to get straight to tackling SOOTH, but I want to wrap Night Watch up first while it's still relatively fresh so it doesn't get shelved and end up unreleased.

There's has also been a secret Puppet Combo presents game in the works, created by the great Jordan King

SKI FREAK

A Colorado ski resort is besieged by a sub-human beast that commits brutal murders on the slopes.

Here is a demo of what's to come...

And finally this Resident Evil style virus game I've been working on every once in a while. It doesn't have a name yet but I'm going to have a short teaser ready within the next few days.

After Night Watch is out I'm going to get straight into working on Stay out of the House again and finally getting it released.

What type of experience would you want a potential employee to have?

puppetcombo

Ideally somebody who has been a solo developer and released 3d games with Unity.

I’m curious if there are tasks or testing or technical assistance your supporters could provide?

I agree, I'd really like to help somehow.

These all sound/look great and I'm proud to get to support such a talented and creative person.

Yes! I could always use testing for new builds. I usually use the early access channel on discord: https://discord.gg/tBDFsd9

I'm super excited to see what Night Watch has to offer after the preview, I thought it was a fantastic intro and am dying for more! Keep up your fantastic work!

My friend told me about your games and I was pretty much hooked on the VHS/PS1 texture filter mixed with 80's slasher/thriller thing you have going on. Powerdrill Massacre and Nun Massacre are my favorites at the moment! Would love to see those made into a full game. I'm a big fan of the PS1 era Resident Evil games, and would love to see more of that sort of stuff personally. I beat Powerdrill and I think it has an amazing atmosphere. It would be really cool if you could escape from that one place though (alt ending). I have worked as a QA tester in the past, and have had aspirations to create my own concepts essentially. Would love to collaborate with you on the project in the future! I was interested in helping out with things like level design, music, or art! Maybe its also time to crack into Unity... Anyways, don't burn out!

When you said you were looking for employees, I realized immediately that I’ve been eyeing someone for a while that’s similar to you in style. Have you heard of ‪@_somewhat__‬? They’re on itch.io, they’ve made games like \Spek.Takl\ and Please follow, the shape on the ground, please, and a few others. They’re really good at what they do and they use unity from the looks of it, and they do ps1 style games. The second I played Spek.Takl I thought “this is puppet combos kinda guy” and that was before I knew you were looking for someone, I just thought you guys would get along well. Just a thought!

Look i dont know if im at fault here to make you do bloodthirsty santa but i really think its at the time where you should stop developement for that and work on something you love im sorry if ive been encouraging you to continue something thats based on a holiday already passed 2 months ago if i was to blame.. im sorry. If i did.

It's pointless to tell you not to stress out, I'm just a guy that follows you on the internet. But I would just like to point out that I pledge and follow your works because of your talent and the style of games that you make here. Not one particular game. Yes, if you suddenly decided to only make safe for work, socially conscious, first person shooters, I may eventually peace out. But the genres you dig, I dig. The games you make, I play. Please make the games you want to make and I will continue to pledge, and when you release them commercially I will buy them. Thanks.

Bruh, take a vacay if you need. Don’t need burnouts happening. 🤗

Don't overdue it because it can distort you mentally and physically, take it easy .

As many people already said, don't push yourself too hard. We all appreciate your work already as it is, your games are always awesome! But it's also important to know your own limits, take care of yourself and rest <3 PS. Ski Freak brings back sooo many memories from SkiFree that I loved playing as a kid! Love it!

Allow yourself to take a clean break too! Take care (:

Follow the mood of your creative heart. You’ll never go wrong. I, and I’m sure all of us here, support that. It’ll make you happy and your games the best they can be. :)
