This is our upcoming, part 1, Ryzen video. It may still be processing on YouTube around the time this post comes up.

The Ryzen testing was very, very squirrely. We're about 3 weeks in for our access to Ryzen. While Ryzen keeps getting better and better, it is still hard to pin down in some tests. We've dumped so much time into Ryzen.

The short version is that if you don't mind a bit tinkering Ryzen is really a game changer in terms of price/performance ratios. There are still more issues with the new platform than we'd like to see going in, so if you take the Red pill be sure to choose known-compatible parts to avoid unnecessary headaches. Hit us up on the forum if nothing else.

We've decided to do this, part 1, as an intro. Part 2 is going to be our take on "testing Ryzen" which will very likely surprise you.

Tomorrow, probably, we're also going to be posting a 1 hour-ish "super cut" of the MSI Build Giveaway video. We won't be making that video public -- that one is just for you guys.

That video will be cut down to 15-20 minutes and that version of that video will be posted publicly. Soon (tm).

Interesting vid, Can you please tone down the background music for future vids please?

This is one of the substantial differences between L1 and mainstream reviewers. Mainstream reviewers will toss out a few benchmarks and call it a day. Wendell and Ryan sit there and explain the problem with doing that and why and I love it. Keep it coming!

Facts instead of hyping only one aspect of ryzen (vs. Intel) you presented an array of facts that i used to decide for a ryzen build as soon as the motherboards ship with a good uefi

Not sure I buy that the "Neural Net" branch prediction stuff makes any difference outside a 10ms window on a single CPU bound thread. They probably just have a number of execution profiles generated from machine learning (i.e. profiling) popular workloads and the CPU switches profiles based on the execution pattern it is seeing. However, I had not heard that the Infinity Fabric and RAM speed moved together. I heard it first here, and I've consumed LOTS of Ryzen coverage. Great content! Now we just need solid UEFIs to go with it!

The Mrs enjoys the show too. Kudos
