So the text version is pretty simple -- The Hive light uses an Atmega AVR from Atmel -- heart of some Adruino type devices -- but our firmware can't be updated because of a lack of bootloader.
No problem. We've got an STK500 from back in the day, we'll use that. Rats, can't find my DB9 adapter.
No problem, I'll flash another arduino to use as an ISP because that's easier than wiring up the FTDI adapter to the STK500 or finding the DB9 null modem adapter.
Then it mysteriously doesn't work and requires a little bit of thinking to solve the last problem with tie breadboard circuit. A simple cap.
Aaaaaaand firmware updated. :D
