Hey all,

We're doing a little experiment this week with the regular news program, as you will probably see here shortly on the main channel. Instead of doing the regular one-hour long program, we're going to try splitting it into smaller segments that are posted individually throughout the week. We're trying this for a few reasons:

1. Better engagement - a lot of videos get better watch times if they are shorter. We're interested to see if this is the case with our main program.

2. Better Youtube referrals - Youtube tends to prioritize more content over less content. We're interested to see if a small uptick in posting will help us show up more in youtube's search results.

3. Because change - We want to continue to grow and evolve. We also think it's possible that we might go on more tangents if we don't have a timer over our heads on each topic.

No doubt there are going to be some people who don't like this format. We're still not sure we'll like it yet either; but we want to give it a try and see how it goes. Take a look at the shorter segments on the channel and let us know what you think. If you ain't into it, you can also watch the full version here (see above).

Thanks!

L1 news is my Tuesday evening (sometimes late Monday night) ritual. I can swing $1 a month. Keep doing great things! :)

Hmm, I like the old format, the latter parts with all the fluff topics are going to be snooze-fest videos. Would feel pretty deflating to see a new video in your feed only to discover its full of topics you have no interest in. Enjoy the content never-the-less, keep it going.

Well, it made me sign up...

Love the new format! I usually have to split up the video throughout the week anyway because I don't have time to watch the whole thing before work. The new shorter videos end kind of abruptly though. I'm sure it will improve with time.

Goin patreon in order to resume order and let everyone (on Youtube) enjoy the glorious ordinary format..

In truth, I like both formats. The shorter gives me a segment to look forward to every day. The longer was more like an indulgence... eating the entire container of ice cream, instead of just a scoop.

Honestly, I don't like this new idea of chopping it all up. I like being able to basically open up the YouTube video and let it play like a podcast. I may be one of the few on here that prefers the full one, but this "20 minute videos everyday" thing is getting annoying. I'm not here because I'm a sys admin or a professional coder or a linux enthusiast - I'm just a guy that enjoys tech. If this keeps up, it looks like I'll be unsubscribing and removing my patreon contribution, not because of a lack of content, but the news is the thing I look forward to every week, and this multi-part series thing isn't doing it for me. I respect the decision you guys are making, but it's not enjoyable for me. If you want to do shorter content......stick with the Level2Techs idea. ;)

Made me sign up... It was the perfect middle of the week, kill an hour at work break. The format would make more sense if the daily news was fresher. I tried this week to look at the videos daily and the problem was I had already seen some of the articles by the end of the week. Added commentary is why I subscribed but still...

As long as the hour long version is still posted here every week on Tuesday, I could not care less how it gets posted on YouTube. EDIT: Same goes for the podcast version...

While this new format doesn't really affect me, I have a feeling that majority of people will dislike this new format

I'm a podcast listener, or was actually, because this episode and the previous one don't really work on my podcast app (Podcast Addict). They run for a couple of minutes and then the playback starts to jump all over the place. It's not like the audio track is mixed up, it's something with the file that confuses the player and makes the apps timeline do the tango. I'm listening to couple of podcasts and yours is the only one I have trouble with. Am I the only one with this problem?
