The video I know you've all been waiting for! I'm still working on the article AND this video is but a lowly DRAFT -- likely filled with errors and/or confusing innuendo. It is not final, and not likely in the final version we will publish.

This type of video is one of the kinds of video that most of the Patreon efforts are going toward: I believe this type of video makes the world a better place for interested parties and it just wouldn't be possible with advertising alone. I am very grateful for your support to be able to do this.

Also, Alas poor Intel. I knew him, Ryzen, a cpu of infinite ringbus and execution ports.... ;)

If anyone spots any errors, glitches or rough edits, let us know so we can fix it before we post. Thanks!

To help blooper fix's 13:50 you said AMD's hostility instead of Nvidia.

LITERALLY 5 HOURS AGO I lay in bed and thought to myself: "I'd like to make a linux windows VM system like Wendell showed with Arch. But I also want to upgrade. Is there IOMMU support on Ryzen?" Thank you, guys!

Marten

From that IOMMU list it seems you can run two AMD RX card now and not have to mix AMD and Nvidia anymore ? That would be nice so you could boot into windows directly for crossfire if needed ?

I still wanna see you guys passthrough a plugable Ultra Dock to basically give a virtual machine it's on personal I/O basically if it's at all possible http://plugable.com/products/ud-3900/

Are you guys going to review the WX 7100 Vs gaming cards in production application? probably only need to do like a 580 and a 1080

It may also be worth doing a full unabridged stream of this process

Here are my two cents on this video intro great !!! 0:00 to 1:00 fun cuts about os's could be smoother (slower) 2:45 DEUL booting great name/item please eleborate 3:45 seamless win-7 gnome-app can you be more specific? from 4:20 cuts from you (wendell) to screen with terminal and back are abrupt, i had some trouble keeping up because of the quick jumps, maybe using a split screen of sorts will work better ?? 21:40 good personal note keep it in, your motivation for using linux is my motivation for using linux and opensource!! 22:20 maybe create a block diagram to show progress off boot process?, you lost me there because i could not keep up other than these points a great video, i love to see more of this type video's

??:?? - When listing through the GFX card with in situ shots there is an NVidia card in shot when talking about an AMD card 13:51 - You say AMD instead of NVidia I'm impatiently waiting on Threadripper to get a system together to try this out. Love you folks at level1techs keep up the good work!

This may become a classic. This is also where I hope we are going with the technical videos :) . It always makes more sense to show what can and can not be done with a hardware (and why) than just to read up the specs and give it a once over. Thank you.

Confirmed, yep. That was a big problem even with the ACS patch because the Radeon driver could see the "not really" isolated other card and it tried to initialize it. With AGESA 1006 isolation is proper and this doesn't happen.

20:25 Proof that Lord Wendell does time travel... He speaks of the future because he has lived it. 21:55 He also speaks of computers as an extension of his mind... This is why we love Wendell.

Looking forward to the Qubes OS video.
