Important Notice - Tax and Fanbox (Patreon)

Hi, patrons!

This month I received a new update on taxes from the Patron team. The following is a post in Patreon recommending that I let you know.

"I wanted to give you an update on some changes that we’ll be seeing which may affect some of your pledges. Due to new laws passing in several countries and US states, Patreon will be required to start charging sales tax on some pledges starting July 1st. 

Less than half of all patrons will be charged sales tax, and for most, the amount will be very small. For example, sales tax rates in the US range from 4% to 11%, so on a $5 pledge, that would be between 20 cents and 55 cents. 

Whether or not you will be charged sales tax depends on your location, and what is considered taxable there. Not every pledge is taxable, not all benefits are taxable in every location, and sometimes only a fraction of a pledge will be taxable. The money that Patreon collects as a result of these laws are paid directly to local governments.

I’m working closely with Patreon to ensure I’m able to save you as much money as possible when it comes to sales tax - which is not something that’s possible with other platforms.

If you’re in a location where sales tax will be required, you should expect to receive an email from Patreon with more information about this very soon, but I wanted to make sure you were aware of these changes way ahead of July 1st when they go into effect.

Patron's instructions, I have completed the process to minimize the sale tax that may be charged on your pledge.

As mentioned above, depending on where you live, taxes may not be charged.

Even if you are taxed, we will know precisely when it comes next month because not all of your pledges are taxable. For this reason, the tax difference between each tier is not large.

Pixiv Fanbox

I decided to open Pixiv Fanbox. I had been receiving feedback on Fanbox opening from the past. So I was preparing for that but I am not completely ready yet. 

I think it is a good time for opening Pixiv Fanbox. Therefore I made a rather urgent decision.

The differences between Pixiv and fanbox are as follows. 

* In Fanbox, there will initially only be Human tier. And then expanding to Ogre tier. Because I don't know exactly Fanbox's guideline and how to distribute rewards, Also It is challenging to increase the number of ME, and Orc Kings because the voting power of ME, and Orc Kings tier must be maintained. And it is not easy to collect the voting results on both platforms. 

* The fanbox Ogre tier has no votes. Fanbox doesn't seem to have a voting function yet. And I'm also sorry that voting for Patron's Ogre tier is not often open. 

* There is a possibility that a censored (mosaic) version is distributed according to Fanbox community guideline. Uncensored is banned in pixiv, and Fanbox is part of pixiv. Initially, the same version as Patreon will be distributed.

* The work released in the A3D store will not be re-distributed like patreon.

* Fanbox will open tomorrow (Monday) or later this Wednesday.
