You may remember hearing a partial Korean version of Blue & Grey from season 1 In the SOOP when V was paddling in the canoe by himself on the lake. Also, if you look up back stories for Agust D's Amygdala, apparently Yoongi was writing that specific song in the trailer (also from season 1 In the SOOP) and was showing it/explaining the lyrics to Jimin. Just tidbits to pass along...

The Coldplay song - Chris Martin wrote it for his wife (at the time, Gwyneth) when she was going through a hard time, something to do with her family member. It's an old song, a staple on Coldplay's tour. Recommend you look up the original Coldplay MV, it's incredible; if you're not familiar with their music, you'll see why BTS wanted to collaborate with this group.

they've never said this but i really think that their fix you cover sparked their relationship w Coldplay since I'm sure they had to get it approved by Coldplay & their label, & their collab took place a few months later. also, this was still in the height of the pandemic so they're performing songs from the Be album which is all about that (so when u read the lyrics you'll get the context of it being pandemic-related!)

IIRC, this was Yoongi's first proper performance post shoulder op though he appeared at an awards show and at the NYE live thing. You can see he's being a little cautious with his shoulder though thankfully none of the songs in this style were the most dance-y of performances. The unplugged performances are so dear to me, they sound so good, each song showcases their versatility as vocalists/rappers very well and the Fix You cover is very pretty. Oh yes, and Alanis Morissette doing Uninvited on MTV Unplugged is iconic and wonderful. (though the song is dark af)

I'm also not a fan of the original Coldplay song, but I really like BTS's cover, even though it's the same words and sounds similar?! I don't know what the difference is, but this cover is one of my favourite performances. I love the pairings of the vocalists singing with the rappers singing the low harmonies.

30:15 I don't know Phantom of The Opera well but I thought they were doing the queen of the night aria from Mozart's Magic Flute

You might have heard Blue & Grey from their Permission to Dance LA concert you watched. They sang it before Black Swan. Also an english version of the snippet from In the Soop Season 1. V is one of the producers and songwriters of this song. It was intended for his solo album but the members consider it is befitting for the BE album. Rapline also wrote their verses and some of the lyrics along with a few other songwriters. It's one of my favourite songs from them for healing me during covid time. It's so sad but at the same time comforting for me. When you happen to dive deep into B&G, pls watch this video from one of the co-producers, NIve (Park Ji-Soo) about the production process. It has English subs. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7M-VdE3prFc&t=13s

It's happened to me a few times, I hear the cover before the original and that becomes my favorite version...I do go back and give the original a chance though, especially if it's written by the person who sings it. Til this day u don't kno how it irks me that ppl say "hurt" now belongs to Johnny Cash. Um, like excuse me, his version is w/o a doubt beautiful but it it's a NIN/Trent Reznor song. The man did not put his deep personal emotions into this song to b disrespected like that. Sorry, went on a tangent there. I just think different versions r valid and we may be attached to a cover versio but let's give credit where credit is due...

This is why I’m dying for you to react to jungkooks singing on vlive by ida s , or the actual old vlives from like his birthday in 2021…. Or the one in his see through pj set right before it… or the one from after the 2022 festa dinner where he did that that, still with you, run BTS, super tuna, and some Korean ballads…. Bc you noticed that jungkook did a different harmony with Jin during life goes on…. Nobody picks up on that stuff like you do… or shows a real appreciation for his voice and what he’s doing in the background so much of the time. You really see HIM… you really HEAR him…. Sadly that’s unique out here lol so I’m just dying to hear what you have to say or think about it all… his raw vocals crystal clear… I just think you’d have so much fun and enjoy it a lot. Curious about what’s all going on that you’ll hear.

This was so fun! Loved it! It’s funny you said that about v and live music… but I think it’s more live bands which is what I think you were also saying, I could be wrong lol but I’d say him Jk and suga probably go to the band members and like jungkook would jump on the drum kit or the bass guitar… tae would usually go towards the piano .. I think he’s into orchestral live music and stuff like that. When it comes to who just seems to love music… rm and jk always pop into my mind bc I just remember watching BTS at award shows and stuff in the audience… ones from a long time ago and ones current… but rm and jk can’t help but bop and vibe along to every single song lol it’s wild bc I duno I figured hobi and jimin would be the most bc the dance backgrounds…. But jimins always like stationary like a rock… hobi gets into stuff sometimes… but not like rm and jk… it’s kinda adorable tho especially when they’re sitting near each other. It always cracks me up to see that.

Love their MTV Unplugged performance. BTS has mentioned that they may slow down in the future. I mean like the type of songs they'll make and perform. We may not see a lot of upbeat ones like Run BTS, Idol...etc, in their Chapter 2. I wouldn't mind at all. I can imagine them doing sessions like the MTV unplugged and I would love it. BTS and ARMY chilling with a drink on hand. 🤗💜 Btw, looking forward to your reaction to Yoongi's concert.

for me I was so happy when they covered Coldplay because before i got into BTS, I used to obsessively listen exclusively Coldplay. So i was so elated that they ended up collaborating after their cover, became friends and Jin’s best buddies. Coldplay has really great songs, whatever their topic is similar to BTS ..inclusion ,diversion, and love. Them and BTS are the only artists who i find really good live..they make their songs sound better live.

This was a great set of songs for them to perform for MTV. Although I’m sure it was an exhausting day, they seem to keep an uplifted attitude and it doesnt hurt that they love being goofy. Thanks for the reaction! I often wonder if I have the same look of adoration on my face when watching them. I’m sure I do! Have a great 4 day weekend!💜
