So the story with Seoyeon is she very much was just street casted. She had 0 background in dance or singing beforehand. She was the first member of tripleS, so as soon as she signed she was revealed, so esssentially she never had any prior training before becoming an idol. Through their daily content that they upload we have seen her grow and improve so much everyday and i cant wait to see where she will be in a year or two. Also as far as the downvotes go its pretty understandable considering how little experience she has. Of course everyone is gonna think they couldve done better. Whats important is that this show will be a very good way for her to get some of that experience to use in the future. Perfect example of 0 to hero.

I couldn’t wait and watched without you but same!!!! I was low key a little fired up at her up and down votes lol I was like … I’m sorry what?!?!??? Hope she doesn’t let this all get to her and bring her down… she was sad when they dropped her. Hwiseo I thought was great. A lot of the girls are great and I think the scores started being more downvotes as they want on for performances that may have gotten higher scores earlier.. who knows lol anyway… hope you feel better .

I found it really funny when you were surprised that the other contestants including rocket punch knew who Kei was. Rocket Punch is the junior group at the same company as Lovelyz :) Hwiseo also really impressed me with her performance. Definitely my favorite of the episode. The first song she sang sounded familiar because Riina also performed it in the last episode. It's H1-Key's Rose Blossom. Yuki performed her own debut trailer song. It's only about a minute long so she added in the dance break to get up to the 2 minutes mnet allotted everyone. RBW just announced that Swan is having a solo debut July 2nd! I agree that naming team 2 the Drop team is just to stir up drama. If I was picking the teams I would have saved myself for last and put myself in the drop team. After having put the team members I want in the drop team first. I appreciated Chanmi's attitude when she was dropped. Having watched the snap and charismatic performances before the show it really takes any drama out of the team picking since most viewers would have already seen who ends up in which team. I really enjoyed your reaction!

i’m so proud of yuki for performing her own song, that was an extra challenge! she could have gone with a popular song, but decided to show her self written lyrics.

Yeh that’s why they can’t take those up down votes to heart for the younger and less experienced girls bc they’re not voting if it was good.. they’re voting on if they think they’re better… and most of the time the experience makes the performance better overall… she’s gonna grow and get a lot out of being on this regardless

From my understanding when it comes to K-pop stuff… going last is left for the most experienced and considered at the top of their game currently… like award show performances always have the senior groups who are the most successful go last…. So them keeping kei until the end is more a sign of respect … not a bad thing I don’t think! So fingers crossed I’m right lol the whole “drop” thing was stupid since it’s literally just dividing the teams. If I was bora I wouldn’t want hwiseo with me either lol did you see that girls dancing and stage presence?!?! That takes a lot to stand and perform next to lol

Sorry not related to this video but I was wondering when will you be starting to react to road to kingdom? No rush just curious:) thanks!

Yes. Sorry - I meant to start it this week. I'll record episode 1 this weekend!

For LOVELYZ's popularity, they were actually quite okay. You were talking about Destiny, another popular song from them is AH-CHOO, this one is also know and they have for example Mijoo as a member that was very well know among the public especially because of her character, she even have a popular video who turn as meme on internet. I feel like it's mostly because of WOLLIM they couldn't take off, the agency have great groups but their management isn't great. Golden Child that you will see in ROAD TO KINGDDOM is from here and right now Rocket Punch members in QD Puzzle are also from Wollim It's so funny when I point this out because if you see QUEENDOM/KD series, a lot of groups coming are from the same agency? Like : OH MY GIRL (QD1) - ONF (RTK) - Chaeyeon (QD PUZZLE) from WM ENT (G)I-DLE (QD1) - PENTAGON (RTK) - BTOB (KD) - Sangah (QD PUZZLE) from CUBE LOVELYZ (QD1) - GOLDEN CHILD (RTK) - ROCKET PUNCH (QD PUZZLE) from Wollim MAMAMOO (QD1) - ONEUS (RTK) - Yuki (QD PUZZLE) from RBW AOA (QD1) - SF9 (KD) - Cherry Bullet/Dohwa (QD PUZZLE) from FNC TOO (RTK) - KEP1ER (QD2) from WAKEONE THE BOYZ (RTK/KD) - WEEKLY (QD PUZZLE) from IST ENT And someone also highlighted this fact but often they tend to put oldest groups/members or the most popular/awaited people, that's why Kei was last. If you look at the end of Episode 1 we had Yeoreum and Bora, both were awaited (Yeoreum I think is one of the most popular contestants and Bora did a lot of survival show it's her fourth one so she is well know among the public) Juri is always pure chaos, she was in the survival show GIRLS RE:VERSE (with Bora, Dohwa, Haein, Elly, Suyun) and she was so funny in it, that's how I fell for her. I also love her voice, I think she even got the actual dancers of Sunmi for this song and even the outfit/hair is like what Sunmi had, that's dedication right here. I wished she got more upvotes since I love her so much and I don't think her stage was that bad as some others but they were still things that could be point out, some of her expression could have been better (I think she was a bit nervous), some dance moves too and at the end you can heard she is tired (its normal) because of the breathing but I felt like to take back her breath I feel like she could have choose a better moment in the performance I must say, that's why I love your reaction, you don't make a big thing out of the downvotes etc because I saw so many people making a whole drama of this. Personnally, I'm just leaving the competition aspect out, I don't really care (downvotes, the reason because people have different criterias, opinions etc) I will just focus on performance and the interaction they have with each others. You're right, calling the other team "DROP" was just to make drama, I mean I could put two teams together without thinking "oh I don't want that person because she was bad", you can choose people because they are closer to you, just because you want to collabore with since a long time or even putting together two team with both great balance. I love Bora team, she literally put my 4 picks in it (her, Yeeun, Yeoreum, Yuki). Even her reason for putting Kei in the other team is nice actually. She wanted her to shine in the other team and I like it. I just wish she would have put Hwiseo with her team and not Chaerin. Fye rap but her rap wasn't that great but the rap in SNAP doesn't seem that difficult honestly I must say. Actually it's not like Bora put every rappers in her lineup, I feel like MNET left some out because like Chanmi was literally Lead Rapper in AOA 😂 (There are some all rounders in the show) I also don't understand why they make a whole big deal with main dancers/main vocal, my lineup literally have Kei and Bora in it, I also have two rappers Yeeun/Yuki

Huge grains of salt because I've very limited J-pop knowledge but from what I understand, with K-pop the reason they have long trainee periods (usually) is because they're perfecting their skills before they debut. When they debut, the group has to be a finished product. Whereas with J-pop, they will often debut girls with very little vocal or dance training and the appeal is that fans get to watch them learning and growing over the years. So the reason Miru's performance didn't look choreographed and looked like a girl dancing in her bedroom is that it was purposeful. It's a j-pop song and they like the idea of the girl next door.

2023-06-27 09:40:52 I'm not good with long shows so I'm just finishing now. I mean no offense by breaking it up >.< But smh at Ryan Jhun being brought back by Mnet. For context for anyone that doesn't know and as a reminder to those that do, he's the producer that went on the DC forum and said that he produces music for c*nt-dols. He's written for A LOT of groups SNSD, Taeyeon (as a soloist), Loona, Gfriend, IU, Red Velvet, Twice etc. When he said that, he had worked most recently with WJSN, Loona and Weeekly (half of whom were under 18 at the time). No wonder all the Weeekly members picked the other song. I guess it hasn't affected his work. He's still writing a lot, most recently for Ive, Chaeyeon, Aespa, CLASS:y & Yooa. But he absolutely disgusts me - he also back in the day defended Johnny the AllKpop CEO for posting the revenge porn of Ailee.

That's actually true. In Korea, they consider the last performers successful, if not, seniors who have achieved a lot. 😊

Seoyeon mentioned that her life has been "like that". I'm assuming it means life kinda takes her to places she doesn't plan for. The whole situation of being last, she still doesn't get to decide where to go, everything is decided for her and itss probably the least stressful place to be for a person with little training experience. She has nothing to lose and everything to gain. It sounds like she has a really good mentality coming into this competition because there's very little expectation. I hope she does well regardless.

I think Chanmi (Do Hwa) has learned from Queendom that nothing should be taken too seriously. (See AOA in Queendom 1 lol I enjoyed them so much). I appreciated her attitude as well, though it's a bit harder knowing in the end only 7 will be chosen. But her attitude does help build teamwork and morale.

Next episode looks so spicy with Chaeyeon leaving! I feel like Jiwon (cherry bullet) should have a chance to trade persons since her strategy falls a lot on Chaeyeon being on the pick team. I have a soft spot for Yeonhee (Rocket punch). She really seems to look out for her members and performed well under the circumstances. I would have thought they would have given her some benefit for salvaging the performance with the malfunction. But one imperfection and suddenly a flood of downvotes. I'm really rooting for her. Bora picking Chaerin is a mixed bag for me. I think she wants to take care of her younger member and give her confidence. But not choosing Hwiseo is so risky considering her all-round skills. It does make Kei's team look a lot more mature however. Older idols with a fierce look. Bora's team is a bit younger and fresher. I'm glad that Juri and Miru are together however. Makes the communication a lot easier.
