I joined when I figured out you were watching this! I'm so excited you posted early so I can watch some on lunch. I ended up getting really attached to SF9 because of this show! They were the only group on Kingdom where I didn't know all the members yet even though I loved their music.

ahhh so the long haired guy you kept pointing out from skz was Hyunjin, who unfortunately was put on hiatus after this episode due to bullying rumours (all proven false btw, he's the sweetest guy). So he's not in the rest of the show:( however he's back now and thriving thankfully :)))))

it's fun to rewatch this again with you. I watched it back then because of Ateez and really enjoyed getting to know the other groups aswell especially BTOB. And Ateez caught my attention when they performed a cover of blood sweat and tears at a award show and you can see bts react to them

Ahhh, I'm excited to watch! Kingdom made me an Ateez fan so I have a bit of fondness for it. I see that someone else already pointed out that Hyunjin is missing after this episode. Mingi from Ateez was on hiatus due to anxiety at this time so they are also down a member. Two members of BTOB were serving in the military so they are also a smaller group here as well

The majority of Stray Kids are short - it's really cute. The "beautiful man in the back with the long hair" in Stray Kids is Hyunjin. Unfortunately, this is the only episode he's going to be in. He got falsely accused of bullying and JYP put him on hiatus while they dealt with it legally. He ended up missing the rest of Kingdom and the episodes he does appear in (such as this one) they edited him to be mostly out of frame the whole time. It's really unfortunate because he's an amazing dancer and voice in the group. The reality show that "formed" stray kids was more like a "will JYP let us debut?" show, and wasn't like a survival competition show like the ones that formed other short-term groups like Kep1er etc. They were already a group of trainees and just had to prove to JYP that they could debut together as team.

My BTOB bias are Changsub and Hyunsik (in military at the time). I love their voice. Changsub is called the intro fairy since he can lure you in the song since the first word. And Hyunsik vocal range is insane. The others have wonderful voice too. And don’t give me time to talk about their personality (all of them) cause I won’t stop

The beautiful man at the back is Hyunjin who didn't get to be in the rest of the show due to some stupid rumors someone spread about him around that time :( I'm still pressed about it. He brings so much to Stray Kids performances, I definitely felt his absence

I personally loved iKON's because of how relaxed it was idk like they said they have been on numerous survival shows so they know how to handle that atmosphere that probably the other much youngers groups like Ateez couldn't. They give me this experienced vibe and I'm down for it lol I also loved the remix with Rhythm TA and Dandy gentleman and strangely I liked that they seem the most different out all of them, more into hip-hop and casual clothing, just pure swag and confidence. Loved The Boyz and SF9 ones too!

Especially after that first performance .. I mean come on… I could watch him dance especially all day… his studio choom was the first time I saw him and I was baffled lol I watched that like a hundred times… I’m an army and between his dancing and the expressions and way he plays with the camera… he reminded me of jimin and tae smashed together from BTS lol I know this isn’t about BTS but it’s a huge compliment bc I love the way they dance and perform too. I’m def interested in watching more stray kids , saw a couple other dancing videos of hyunjins and wow … he’s captivating on so many levels. I hate how fake allegations can really hurt these idols when they did nothing wrong… it’s sick .

I first saw your channel with SEVENTEEN, but ngl followed at the start of your BTS journey and most of that wasn't for BTS, but just the respect and no BS attitude you gave at the start of that. Yay looking forward to your Kingdom reactions. I watched it as it was airing, and I don't think there is any evil editing in terms of manufacturing drama between teams or making anyone look bad. It's really a love fest between teams and that is the highlight for me. Some of the guys were already good friends prior to the show which I think helps break the ice. Stray Kids Changbin and Ateez Wooyoung were already very close, and Stray Kids Bang Chan and BTOB Peniel have been friends since trainee times. And I know members of Stray Kids and the Boyz are friends but I don't know the specifics. A couple of people already mentioned that Stray Kids pre-debut show was basically JYP approving their debut, as they already were a team, but the interesting thing is that the team was put together by leader Bang Chan rather than the company. I didn't know much about BTOB before watching this show and they became one of the best things on the show, I'm so glad they were there. They are just so relaxed and treat the younger teams so well. And so funny. Changsub also has my fave vocal tone from them.

And yes Stray Kids are known for good live performances, hope you'll get to check some out later. And Ateez too! I appreciate both of them for singing live as much as possible. BTOB of course absolutely kills the live vocals.

Oh! I do remember one screw up from MNET, I forget which round it was but they accidentally gave some teams a lower budget limit to spend on their performance. So that sucked. Regarding voting, you're right to disregard it. The voting system is really confusing and some of the results are strange. So I just ended up mostly ignoring it lol. Oh also, the second host who isn't Max Changmin, got into a scandal after this episode was filmed, so that's why they edited it to show him as little as possible. And he'll disappear at some point.

Sorry for the comment spam lol. Yes stray kids are in general, short. For perspective, 6 out of 8 of them are shorter than Jimin/Yoongi. Some of them like Chan and Lee Know look tall because of their proportions, but they mostly small boys. Chan called himself 'fun-sized' 😂

Honestly Austin you’re skin looks hydrated and radiant with that moisturizer .. super Korean skin vibes and how they like skin to be glowy… I think you look fabulous! Didn’t notice the breakout until you said something about it tho lol I actually wanted to come comment that you look radiant and gorg the first time you said you look “greasy” but forgot.. if you want to powder with that just lightly powder wherever you actually tend to get oily… you will keep some of that healthy skin looking glow but not feel like you look greasy .. if you’re into that. Honestly I love the glow on you and I’d only powder your tea zone bc most ppl tend to get oily there .. but that’s just if you do there.. middle forehead, sides of the nose and chin type vibe. FUN FACT!!! Lee Know from stray kids was actually a back up dancer for BTS for a bit. If you watch jungkooks live stage for “begin” which you haven’t .. and it killed my soul bc hobi said that it was the hardest choreo any of them had done at that point.. which is a huge compliment from our love hobi!!! But you only saw the lyric video.. but the dance is really crazy and the fast footwork and quick moves .. they’re amazing… but Lee know is super close to jk during the big dance parts, I think he was jimins serendipity , he was with them for Not Today , Jhopes mama, actually he was also in the not today music video lol and he’s right at the front on the right in the opening scenes, there’s pics with him and members behind the scenes… stray kids are big BTS fans lol they’re so cute about it… bangchan mentioned about how jungkook was the best at everything and hes mentioned his voice quote a few times…but jk has a huge circle of friends 97 liners and bangchan just recently got added to their group chat .. and him jk and I think jaehyun from nct went to eat together … I love seeing these guys from groups all hanging out and stuff… but yeh there’s videos showing Lee know on stage with BTS if you ever want to see that… it’s cute but def get to know him here first and I’m kinda excited for a stray kids week. The guys are funny and cute.. the performances are always epic.. they really bring it !

Yes he's really just a lovely person. He's the type of person you'd love to be friends with in real life. Chan was a trainee for a long time (7 years) and had many strengths and strong leadership. JYP decided for the first time to hand over control of selecting a team to him. From what JYP said they wanted a team with strong teamwork and who love each other rather than a team that was put together by the company, or who are given roles to play. Basically going for something more authentic. And you may know this part but the other cool thing is Chan, Changbin, and Han (3RACHA) are the producing team and it's truly a self-producing group. Those three typically compose the music, usually working with one producer per track (which is sometimes just Chan himself lol). The members write 99% of the lyrics and the other guys are writing more of the music now too. If you look at album credits you will just see 3RACHA everywhere. And people may not like their music but you have to give them credit for that. Hope you enjoy learning more about skz!

Very excited for this show, I started watching for stray kids and then the boyz became my ults lol, im excited to see which performances are your favs considering how the format of the performances changes alot when you compare it to queendom.

ok so for me, the ranking would be The Boyz as 1st, ATEEZ as 2nd, Stray Kids as 3rd, SF9 as 4th, BtoB as 5th (performance-wise, I felt it was a weaker than the other groups, but the vocals really made up for it with a lasting impact), and iKON as 6th (I know how popular the song they did is but to be completely honest, their stage was the least impactful). Regardless of my rankings and my initial impressions, I am looking forward to every group and seeing what they are capable of.

Ok I finished watching the video, I agree on the voting part, I feel like it just makes the show a bit predictable on the rankings since all the groups in the show have different amount of fans and some of them are more chill while some of them are very passionate with voting and streaming (and oh boy certain fandoms were very intense in social media when this show aired lol). My ranking for this round would probably go something like: The boyz Stray kids/Ateez Btob Sf9/Ikon I also really liked that the boyz used the game of thrones inspiration since its kind of my favorite show of all times haha. I also dont really remember all the rankings of the show (other than the final ones, and even those, i only remember like the top 3 or 4) since it happened somewhat long ago, so I'll suffer with you because of all the cliffhangers lol

Finally - Kingdom was so long on my To watch list, and watching the show with you is more fun, because sometimes we have similar thoughts. I know every group here, but I have more songs from SKZ, iKon and SF9 on my playlist and I like their songs a little bit more than The Boys and Ateez. BtoB ans their songs I know less of all, although they are so long in the business. But I know some interactions with other Bands/Members of other bands Changsub was at the same time a the same military music corp with Key and they became friends. Minhyuk has a radio show BtoB kiss the radio and SKZ`s Seungmin and Lee Know a regulars at his show. I think it started after Kingdom... My ranking for this show would be 1. Stray Kids 2. Ikon, 3. BtoB 4. SF9, 5. The Boys, 6. Ateez. The performances of the Boys and Ateez were great, I would have choosen other songs. Have a nice weekend!

I also liked Changsub's vocals. His tone and ability to make it look so easy stood out to me. I personally don't stan BTOB, but I have liked some of their songs in the past. I also have a bias: Minhyuk. It wasn't until someone I watched pointed it out, but I'm shocked at how much Minhyuk looks and reminds me of Soobin from TXT. It is honestly so crazy. I feel like in another universe, they are brothers or long lost brothers of some sort. His face and sometimes mannerisms/behavior just has an uncanny resemblance to Soobin.

I love all these groups so much, I honestly can't rank them. They are all amazing. I just saw SF9 live in Denver and they were incredible. Their live vocals are soooo good. I can't wait for you to watch the other episodes. This show is so good. I think Road to Kingdom was my favorite so I can't wait to see that one too. I really fell in love with ONF on that show. They were so amazing.

I do kind of love these shows especially when there is a good variation in the groups, not everyone has the same taste so we get to hear and see all kinds of performances. Though with each show of course some groups with larger fandom power are going to have an advantage, most groups comes out of these shows stronger and maybe with a new outlook they discovered on the show. Though at the time of watching the show I was really only a fan of the older 3 groups and was excited and interested with what they were bringing since they were all kinda going through something/starting new things. iKon and BTOB had both lost members prior to the show and BTOB was down a futher two men while their younger ones enlisted so was interesting to see what these two senior groups brought with these different lineups. SF9 was kinda the only group who had never done a big TV stage before, no large end of year performances like the other groups so you could see them learning and getting stronger at larger scale productions. They were also shoved into the show last minute so 6 members were actively working in dramas and musicals at the same time so it fell on 3 members to do the heavy lifting of organizing this.So during the show I was mostly dazzled by them even though I thought the younger 3 were really good. It took me actually almost a year after the show ended to become full on fans of them so now looking back I appreciate their performances more.

As I know BTOB since 2014, for me it's rather the other way round: Soobin reminds me of a soft giant Minhyuk. I'm not an official Melody but I listen to so many of their songs (group or solo) that it's just like I am. (and so much content cause we all know they are FUNNY!!! and good entertainers).

Funny story about SF9, I got into Kpop in 2016but didn't know anyone else who was into it so I played SF9's K.O. knockdown (cause it has the funny voice effects and kids love that stuff) for my then 10 year old repeatedly till it grew on her and when she was singing it in the backseat, I knew I had brainwashed her enough to have made her a kpop fan. LOL. She was my kpop buddy till about 15 years old then she switched to Death Metal. LOL

in regard to the screen flashing black every once in a while, i think that's just a viki thing with screen recording. i've watch a few reactors' videos for kingdom and they all had the same issue

(last year) first when didnt really know any group and a couple months later, i watched it again. i knew the groups at this point, and it was just as interessting then. the first time i watched cause of the results and whats happening and all that. the second time i watched it, mostly for the interactions. (and the performances obv) i also watched many people react to it, and then im like, should i really watch it again? i already saw it so often and know it one by one, but i just love people reacting to it. no matter if it was, when it came out or there reacting now to it, i watch them. i love it cause of the performances and the interactions, the ranking is always the sad part, i just felt so bad for everyone who was not high

2023-12-31 05:19:30 i actually dont think the fan voting is that bad, in the end, i think to really say, one performance is the best, is really hart. everyone has a different taste, so even when the expert judges rank them, its still a opinion at the end of the day. sometimes the experts litteraly ranked my fav performances at last. i was like ????i just cared sometimes for the ratings, like when my fav performances where at the bottom, but i wasnt in generell, all performances were great. i just felt sad for everyone at the bottom, that must hurt at the end of the day. its not that extreme like with survival shows thought. i watched a lot of these, and the people who make it into the group are always talented, but the most from the people there? no, cause in the end its about the popularity there. anyway in this show i actually agreed with the fans voting most of the time. stray kids was my fav performance, i actually started stanning them after the show. there performance here (all their performances actually) blew my away. i love the dark, powerful, more is more performances and thats what they give me. and the fact that there personallitys are so different is funny to me. but i would have put ateez at third place. i love btobs personallity, even thought their stages were never my favs (i liked them,but not more), since they dont really dance.

i actually dont think the fan voting is that bad, in the end, i think to really say, one performance is the best, is really hart. everyone has a different taste, so even when the expert judges rank them, its still a opinion at the end of the day. sometimes the experts litteraly ranked my fav performances at last. i was like ????i just cared sometimes for the ratings, like when my fav performances where at the bottom, but i wasnt in generell, all performances were great. i just felt sad for everyone at the bottom, that must hurt at the end of the day. its not that extreme like with survival shows thought. i watched a lot of these, and the people who make it into the group are always talented, but the most from the people there? no, cause in the end its about the popularity there. anyway in this show i actually agreed with the fans voting most of the time. stray kids was my fav performance, i actually started stanning them after the show. there performance here (all their performances actually) blew my away. i love the dark, powerful, more is more performances and thats what they give me. and the fact that there personallitys are so different is funny to me. but i would have put ateez at third place. i love btobs personallity, even thought their stages were never my favs (i liked them,but not more), since they dont really dance.

My top three would be ateez,skz and the boyz in no order because ateez is my ult so I’m kinda biased so I can’t rate them however the boyz was really good!

Oops, didn't realize enter would post the comment :v anyway, no spoilers but tbh almost of all my favs was Skz. I'm uber biased tho, ult group & the only group out of them that I know. Well except for... this intro I actually liked Tbz they best, round 1 was Ateez & the final round... I think it was SF9? I don't remember but i'll say when i get there.
