Hey ya'll! I am finally starting SIXTEEN! I actually really enjoyed this 1st episode and can't wait to watch the rest of the show. It looks like there are only 10 episode and most of the episodes are around an hour long so hopefully it doesn't take me too long to watch the series.

Ooh this is gonna be a journey! I don't remember where all the trainees who didn't make it ended up but I'll share the ones I do know. Chaeryeong - Itzy (ofc) Chaeyeon - Former Iz*one now Soloist, crazy dancer I think Seulgi named her along with Lisa/Momo etc as some of the best dancers. Natty - Kiss of Life, main dancer. She also has an amazing voice. Somi - Soloist, she was the one you mentioned with fast forward.

Wonder Girls are really a pioneer girl group. There were SOME before (S.E.S, Fin.kl, Brown Eyed Girls) but the age of kpop girl groups really started in 2007 with WonSoKa as the were called when grouped together (Wonder Girls, Soshi, Kara). Those three girl groups who all debuted around the same time really paved the way for other female idols. But as far as the specific achievement you're thinking of, Wonder Girls were the first kpop act to tour the U.S and the first to enter the Billboard 100. They also opened for the Jonas Brothers on tour and had their own Nickelodeon movie. I'm just going to keep posting as I watch because my laptop is kind of crap and WILL lose everything I type if I wait till the end.

With regard to how to pronounce Eunsuh's name, don't worry too much about how it's been romanised. It's the same hangul as Seohyun's name, you can pronounce it 'Eunseo' . .

I can't remember if it just came down to Mnet editing or maybe rumors going around but there was SO much hate again Nayeon when this show was airing. Not even going to lie but I did kind of get swept up into it. Not enough to make nasty comments but I definitely did roll my eyes at times. Like there were so many comments about her being camera hungry/attention hungry....as if that WASN'T going to potentially translate into votes and being put in the group and therefore they would ALL want attention? idk it was stupid. I hope NY didn't see too much of it.

Yes, Somi is mixed race. She actually holds 3 passports and is able to use them really effectively so she rarely ever has to go through the worst of the immigration lines. She has dutch and canadian ones through her dad and a Korean one through her mum. She herself was born in Canada.

The fresh fruit thing is kind of a cultural thing. Fresh fruit is really expensive in Korea. That's why you see a lot of idols eating it as a desert, it's a treat. (meat is as well but as trainees, they're not supposed to be eating too much meat).

2AM were originally a group WITH 2PM. They were essentially two different units that would unit as One Day. 2AM became really popular for their vocals and 2PM became REALLY popular for their abs though so One Day was never really a thing again once the groups became independently successful.

I'm surprised you haven't heard of Jo Kwon though. He put 2AM on the map as far as I was concerned. He's....well I know we shouldn't project labels onto people but a lot of kpop fans think he's not straight. And he is a fan of a good drag performance. Actually, you HAVE heard him before! You watched the Hyoyeon video Born To Be Wild, right? Disaster that it is lol. The other people in it are JYP, Jo Kwon and Min (Miss A). All of whom were in this video :)

Nothing particularly HAPPENED to Miss A. But Jia, Min & Fei's popularity were all eclipsed by Suzy. It was truly a 'Beyonce and the girls' situation. Suzy was a household name, an It Girl, the others weren't. She had a lot of solo schedules so the other 3 became closer to each other and there was a noticeable distance. I think Fei talked a couple of years ago in an interview how there's always one member that get's more noticeably popular and it creates resentment. As far as where they are now, Suzy's still an active actor, Jia & Fei returned to China and have careers there and Min moved to New York and retired. A youtuber caught up with her a year or two ago and she seems to be happy.

Kkab/kkap just means to over exaggerate. Kkap dance isn't a specific dance, they were just referring to dancing silly. One of Yuri's old nicknames used to be Kkab Yul because of her ability to exaggerate dance moves and make them look silly on variety shows.

Sana's demonstration is genius. She knew everyone else would be singing and dancing and she wasn't the best at either. If she'd just gone up there and did a dance, she wouldn't be memorable. Genuine 4D chess move.

at youngji's drink show nayeon talked about how people had misconceptions about her since her debut, being one of the famous members on sixteen made her more visible, which unfortunately turned into a negative thing. nayeon is so sweet and she genuinely cared about the other girls, it's unfortunate that people misunderstood her intentions.. sometimes the more known/loved someone is, the more hate they seem to attract. but that was a long time ago.. people know her now, she is that supportive sister and one of the funniest in twice

Jiwon is the main vocalist in fromis_9! The other 2 trainees that weren't mentioned never debuted, but Minyoung does have a YouTube channel now

Sana is actually the most extroverted member of Twice! Jihyo is a close second and is the only other extrovert of Twice! You could argue that Nayeon is also an extrovert, but all of her MBTI tests have come back as her being an introvert. Also, Tzuyu is Taiwanese and speaks Mandarin. Thailand and Taiwan are two different places.
