TWICE WEEK: DAY 2 | Killing Voice | reaction (Patreon)

PLEASE READ:

This is DAY 2 of my 'TWICE WEEK'.  I am currently pre-recorded all of the videos for my TWICE WEEK.  I just decided to post them here on my Patreon as I finish recording them.  Once I have all of the videos done I will start my Twice Week on YouTube and upload these there.

This is mostly for my existing Patrons who are fans of TWICE.
I currently don't have any plans of reacting to extra TWICE content on Patreon - but I might in the future.

But - this Killing Voice was amazing.  They have so many good songs.  It felt very nostalgic.

I disagree, I don't think they sound like the track, I'm even more impressed. I'd consider myself casual but longtime. I listen to the songs but I don't go out of my way to seek out stages - particularly not when so much is just prerecorded these day. So when I think of Twice live, I think of either Sixteen era baby Twice or all the complaints about Momo's bad vocals. I'm personally blown away by their improvement. And on one hand, obviously. When I'm comparing to stages from like a decade ago. But on the other hand, idk. I hope this will make people who had dismissed them vocally take another look.

I'm definitely a casual fan so I haven't really seen the earlier stuff to know about vocal improvement. But they sound great! This is one of my favorites killing voices so far.

To be honest, I've never been more into Twice than listening to their title tracks, haha. I like some Twice title tracks, but I probably wouldn't have clicked on Twice Killing Voice if I had seen it. I loved watching it with you and thought it was really good! Plus it reminded me of songs I'd forgotten about for a long time haha. Dahyeon was super funny and I like her the most out of the girls. But my favorite remains Sana. Whenever Nayeon sang and you saw her from the side, my thoughts were "Man her eyebrows" haha. Weird, yeah. But she has really nice eyebrows and eyes, lol. My favorite songs from Twice are what is love, heart shaker, yes or yes, the feels and fancy.

Yeah. Sana's visuals are crazy! I kept thinking WOW. She's a super model. But I didn't want to be weird or have people think she was just a 'visual' you know.

I'm glad you enjoyed this Killing Voice. I feel like Twice receives a lot of criticism for their vocals based on the same 1-2 clips from music show encores, but watching any of their concert performances you could see that Twice are great vocalists and performers. They even sound good in live stream concerts and fancam videos where their voices haven’t been tuned (of course they don’t sound perfect because nobody does, but they probably sound better than most of their detractors would assume). I’m glad they had this opportunity to show their vocal abilities in a way that may reach a wider audience. Speaking of concerts, JYP artists always do their setlists with mics on top to bottom and I can confirm that Nayeon and Jihyo have outstanding stamina (they do have to forgo some adlibs which I totally understand). I really like Momo’s voice too! I actually like her lower register the most (which I don’t think was showcased much in this video). Her tone is really unique, but it seems that most of her parts in Twice’s title tracks are not in the most comfortable range/placement for her (I know nothing about singing so I could be totally off base). She is one of the members who receives the most criticism for her vocals and that could be a reason why. Some examples of her singing in a lower, more natural sounding register is her line in the second verse of ‘Talk That Talk’ and her verses in ‘Do Not Touch’ by MiSaMo (which I'm not sure if you’ve heard yet).

i think jype should momo in the rap section. momo is a great rapper her deep and lower reg is showcasing in their sub unit the misamo. in misamo sub unit she's designated as a rapper

Signal is honestly such a grower but it’s kind of a top tier title track for me at this point. It’s just such an outlier, but still somehow so catchy

Jeongyeon's voice is indeed suited for a more mature, edgy genre. This is one of the reasons why JYP initially only gave Jeongyeon a few lines for their earlier tracks, her voice does not fit the cutesy bubblegum pop songs that Twice was famous for, Jihyo also admitted that she had to tweak her own voice to fit the range of their earlier title tracks. But now.... on their 8th year, Jeongyeon & Jihyo's voices are highly utilized as their music has matured organically. Sadly, Jeongyeon still declines to debut solo as she still feels she isn't quite ready yet (as she has stated on her IG post) but we will be waiting 🥰
