6. Don't overcomplicate your postwork. I believe, if you photo looks good on your mobile phone screen, it will look good everywhere. So, don't try to solve every problem, don't zoom you photo until you can see every pixel. Nobody will notice hours of your hard work.

7. If you are new to Photoshop don't start from frequency separation tutorials etc. First, you have to know how the basic tools work. Layers, eraser, color levels, etc. You can start with my videos. I use the absolute minimum of tools, only the ones photographer needs.

You know, a lot of my students sell their own tutorials (based on my work), but they add something really annoying, like frequency separation. And you know why? "Because people don't believe it's so simple, they need something difficult, something just for weight, to be satisfied"

8. Remember, your images, your content, is much more important than your technical excellence. Don't spend you time trying to make perfect something that's not really interesting. You know, a lot of my first year photos were far from perfect, but it didn't stop me from being published and gain a strong following.

9. The more you spend on you camera, the more you have to spend on your working computer. To work with 50mpx RAWs and to edit 4K video you need a real beast. But no one will see the difference if your images are "only" 20 mpx. And I still use old Photoshop (CS 5.5) because it's fast, reliable and have all the tools I need. And my monitor is not calibrated too. And it's not Apple. And only 24 inches. And I work in full HD (1920x1080).

10. I learned a lot from artists, and I am an artist myself. So, follow popular artists, try to understand their tricks and ideas, colors, composition. Read about it. Good photographer always a good artist, man who see things and understand how it works.  PS Check the final image, this is a good example.
