It's been a while since I made a painting! I love how the ginkgo leaves turn a beautiful yellow around this time of year, so here's my little ode to that. I'm also trying to find a painting technique that isn't too stressful on my arm. So that means less hard round brush and other brushes that are sensitive to pen pressure. Basically have to paint more as if I am using gouache and layering it on very thickly so that I don't have to press down as much. I'm enjoying it though, feels good to be painting again! Hope you like this one :)

ohh very interested to hear more about that technique as you discover more about it, I have a tendency to apply way to much pressure as I draw and always cramp up my forearm because of it

That’s definitely an issue for me too! It helps for me to fiddle with the pen pressure and brush settings, so that it requires a bit less pressure from my hand.

My hands are also super damaged from too much painting, hope your arm hangs in there! The painting looks amaazing! Love the texture and her eyes.

Such a beautiful painting and composition, I love the glow of the eyes echoing in the yellow of the leaves!
