Last month I mentioned that I wanted to do at least one loose sketch session every month where I explore some ideas and try to channel my imagination a bit more. This is what came out of that session for this month! I am actually finalizing two of these sketches into more detailed paintings right now (the girl in the chair and the space suit one). Hope you like these!

I'm excited to see the space suit one develop! How cool!

These are super cool! Did you use references at all for these or were they strictly from your imagination? That spacesuit one is going to be awesome!

I love the girl in the chair. ❤️ Her style and the mood is really cool. Do you used some reference photos for this sketch session or it is from your imagination? And do you use some time tracker or limit time when you have this session ?

These are great! I love how fluid they are, as always. The girl channeling/spellcasting/whatever it is up on top of page 3 is my favorite.

Are you using a reference for your freestyle sketches?

These are so beautiful omg I almost cried😭💖💖

Loish

I use a reference for some of them. the girl in the chair is referenced from a fashion editorial photo, although the clothes/face/tubes/cables etc are from the imagination! the space girl is off the top of my head. it's a mixed bag basically :)

Loish

thanks so much carmen! I might add some color to her at some point.

Loish

thanks klara! I use a reference for some of them as a jumping off point, but I try to just wing it after the basics are down. I don't limit the time but I spend about 2-3 hours on it, after that it just doesn't go anywhere anymore haha!

Loish

thanks! it's based on a really great photo (you gotta scroll a bit to find it) - https://www.bloglovin.com/blogs/de-lune-2585027/american-pie-steven-meisel-for-vogue-italia-4804916222

Loish

thanks! I used references, definitely. I tried to use them loosely as jumping off points!

Thanks for sharing that! It's awesome to see where it came from and where you took some liberties with the design. 🧡

I love love this!

That amazing! I wish I could pick an art style and stick to it, because I love them all. I love Charcoal, watercolor, copic markers, and I cannot choose one to stick with. I also love sketching in my iPad (Procreate). How were you able to calm the noise and just select one media? How were you able to choose a subject matter to sketch? Idk, I cannot decide if I want to draw faces, hands, or backgrounds. It can be frustrating sometimes. Please advise if you can.
