I have finally finished the last of the painting WIPs I had lying around since early this year! This one was so soothing to paint. I loved capturing the blobby and soft shapes of the bubbles trapped under the ice. This one is inspired by photos of methane bubbles in frozen lakes, it’s really cool to see so I definitely recommend looking it up if you haven't seen that before!

I like the depth by layering, I’m curious if that’s part of the study or an artistic choice?

Oh my…this is so incredible😍 How do you even come up with all this ideas for drawing? Did you do tutorial or anything about it? I mean…this is amazing..

I love this! It would be great to see another version of it from a lower down perspective so that the figure is in the bottom third of the image and the glowy pink streaks illuminate more of the air. I would also be interested to see what inspiration you would take after watching a few hours of Jonna Jinton's winter vlogs - a lot of your ice paintings remind me of her. Keep up the good work :)

It‘s very soothing to look at too. I love how the bubbles are layered and give the impression that the lake is very deep.

me too! although i hope it'll be a mild winter this year just because of all the energy crisis issues :|

thank you! I actually did do a tutorial on using your creative spark to generate ideas, which is pretty much how I came up with this one too since I saw a picture of this and wanted to capture it in a painting. you can find that tutorial here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/tutorial-using-65162895

it's part of the study since the images of these bubbles have this kind of layering to them!

This is so powerful, the depth of the lake gives me the chills, and oh my, I googled methane bubbles in frozen lakes and it is INSANE! I wonder why they get that way?! Nature is just so freaking cool.
