I filmed the process for the sketches I posted earlier this month and edited them together into a video! It’s filmed in real-time but you can speed it up by clicking the gear icon if you like. Unfortunately the white balance was set to auto which resulted the color constantly changing, which is why I desaturated it! I need to work on making a better, more reliable setup for filming sketches. I hope you still enjoy this video despite those issues! Let me know if you have any questions!

Omg thank you so much for uploading this. I'm trying to get back to sketching in my sketchbook more and honestly your sketchbook videos help me a lot❤️❤️❤️

Love to see videos like this in real time! And quality-wise the colour it's ok for a process, don't worry.

Very relaxing to watch.. immediately wanted to start drawing myself.. so I did 😅 I put some calm acoustic piano music behind it... perfect combo.

Question: can you work with the same focus/concentration/speed/... when you know that the camera is recording, and people will see it? Or does that not bother you at all? I can’t work when someone looks over my shoulder 😅 I shut down immediately 😂. I used to stream on twitch.. and that was a bit easier.. but still didn’t feel as relaxed as i normally do when sketching.. I felt a bit of pressure to perform well 😁

It's really nice to just watch you work! Thanks for sharing

These sketches turned out really great Lois!

haha i get what you mean! it's always slightly different when i know i'm being filmed. i definitely work differently because i usually hunch over my sketchbook, with my nose practically on the paper. so i have to sit in a different posture when i film. but for the most part it's a similar process! i got used to being watched while drawing from doing workshops, live demonstrations and making the tutorial videos!

i'm not sure about the pencil lead, it's a free pencil i picked up from a hotel. i always like a slightly softer lead!

Right :p I remember how nervous you were at your first live demonstration at facts 🙂 You did well tho.. by the time I saw you again in Florence you were a pro 😁

I like how even 20 seconds in you can already tell this is your drawing. your linework is so unique and strongly yours, it's unmistakeable!

Your linework is so incredible and it's always fresh everytime I go back just to look at it. If it's ok to ask, may I ask what type of pencil you use for your sketches? I find that I've been drawing so much digitally and I need to feel the experience more from sketching on paper again.

thank you! I mostly use a mechanical pencil with HB lead. it's nice and sharp! moleskine paper is also great to draw on.
