Hey guys! Here's my latest sketchbook tour ~  this one's really different from the other two as it's one of my least finished sketchbooks! Lots of half finished stuff that I never really posted. I talk a lot about how I use a cylinder techinque to flesh out the shapes, use lines to find the planes in the faces, and an embarassing story about powerpuff girls. Enjoy and let me know if you have any questions!

And as I said yesterday, thinking of all of you in these crazy times. Hang in there and feel free to vent if you need to! ❤

What kind of pencil are you using? I love the texture and gradient of it.

I’m so happy you love Star Wars, specifically Padme and Kylo lol! I don’t feel so alone anymore!

Every time I see your artwork, I'm inspired to draw. Your art is so beautiful. Thank you!

I don't usually put too much thought into what I draw on my sketchbook, but I guess with the thought processes it does help develop one's sense in drawing haha. Thanks for sharing!!

Loish

thanks! just a mechanical pencil like always. literally just the free ones that i pick up at hotels.

It´s so funny, every time I sit down to take a look at the new posts you make, I am not able to finish because I get inspired very fast and need to sit down making something on my own. I need to say, I never have that when I see all the finished and super poished work on Instagram or Deviantart, I get discouraged very fast because my brain says "you will never get there". But somehow it "clicks" for me when I see other artists in progress. But especially here, with you. I am happy.

Loish

that's a huge compliment :) i'm glad my work has this effect! enjoy your creativity! :)

Thanks so much for all the work you’re putting into these sketchbook tours. It’s so cool to get to see that part of your artistic process. 💕

I am glad I am not the only one that never draws on the first page of my sketchbook... and have RARELY actually finished one. By the way... Perfume Genius is awesome. Great recommendation. Thank you as always for sharing Lois.

I really enjoyed the amount of portraits in this one! Changing your go-to sketchbook size can do a lot for reassessing why you make the decisions you do, so it was cool seeing your development. Not sure if you've shared something like this on Patreon yet, but I'd love to see a little breakdown of how you color your sketches in Procreate! You mentioned using specific blending modes, so I'm curious what your workflow is.

Yeey! I love when you make voice overs! =) I'l grab a coffee to watch it properly! ❤️

It's fun watching your sketchbook tours and then instantly recognizing your finished works as sketches. I'm a big fan of learning other artists' thought process behind works.

Xuan Delgado

what thickness of sketchbook do you use?

Loish

it's a moleskine sketchbook! this one was a notebook with thinner paper.

Contrary to what you said, I found it super-interesting what was going on in that sketchbook! I love how open you are about showing the messy stuff, it's really instructive. Regarding the gesture drawings, have you ever tried Mattesi's "force" approach? It's really fun and rollercoastery to do, although still hard to control for me.

Loish

thank you, i'm glad you enjoyed it! i haven't tried this method before but i am definitely intrigued! i might get the book.

The book is great, just the companion app doesn‘t work outside the US for some reason. Fortunately he has a few YT videos, too.
