did you guys see that toonme thing going around? I haven't drawn a self-portrait in a while so it seemed fun to participate! and a great excuse to draw myself in an unapologetically cartoony style haha. Here are some of the rough steps plus the ref photo!

Looking at the transition from right to left is astonishing. Critically, I can see the exaggerations in the left side, but to be forced to compare it to the right is throwing my mind for a loop. I can't help but take the left side as actual, not toonish. *stupid shift-returns And, to toot that same horn, the depiction of hair seems very in-step with the composition. Even with the blurring in the background it feels right. Bravo!

Slightly funny story to go with excellent portrait: When I first saw reference to you (from Djamila Knopf, I think) I was musing on how to pronounce your web-name. I decided my favorite was "Lowish". I think from an earlier comment, someone called you "Lois" so that rang a bell. Is it Lois H?

I gotta admit that I think all this #toonme drawings look just a little bit creepy haha. Some look pretty cool though. I love how you handled the transition.
