Hello everyone!

We have just now released a brand new update to Vanilla Vehicles Expanded. It introduces some of the stuff you have all been asking for, as well as some of the stuff you haven't. I will break it down in short in this post.

Refueling pump is a new structure that will fill the adjacent vehicle with chemfuel, provided that the vehicle is occupying the interaction spot in front of the refueling pump, and that the refueling pump is loaded with chemfuel. It has a supply of 100 chemfuel, but it can be connected to chemfuel network to really let you automate refueling. There is no better feeling than knowing that your vehicles are ready to go, fully fueled up, and it brings me great joy that with Chemfuel Expanded, you can create badass petrol stations.

Tank traps are inspired by the existence of the Ancient tank traps in Ideology DLC. They are stuffable, 2x2 barrier that can be constructed with metal or wood. They provide decent cover to infantry, and can be pathed through by infantry, but will not allow vehicles through. While it's not as important yet, once Vehicle raiders come in, you will want to use these tank traps to funnel them where you want them.

The toad is what I refer to as a siege pod. Capable of having not 1 but 4 passengers, this heavily armored drop pod can land in the middle of enemy base and bring death from above. Operator of the Toad has access to a roof-mounted mortar, which allows you to launch any kinds of shell of enemy base.

Scytheman is nothing more than a combat-ready tractor, inspired by the Polish Scythemen - often peasants and townspeople armed with war scythes. While it doesn't have any armor and is incredibly slow, it carries our first MLRS - a long range swarmer rocket turret. It has limited angle of firing - can only fire behind the scytheman, and cannot fire whilst moving, however it is capable of firing 8 missile salvos towards the enemy. Quite inaccurate, considering it's a Tier 1 vehicle, it is still capable of utter devastation. It uses an overheating mechanic, which means after firing about 20 missiles it needs to cool down for a substantial amount of time.

More long range missile launching vehicles will come in the future. I definitely see a Tier 3 on the horizon!

I personally would love some more utility vehicles. Like a farming vehicle that can mass sow/harvest stuff. Or a massive driller bulldozer that can chew 3-tile wide tunnels through mountains at a time.

Nova Solarius

Love me a better drop pod. All the better to deliver flowers to my enemies, occasionally joined by a band of augmented super soldiers with high-tech weaponry and power armour.

or a cleaning truck to remove dirt and stuff from paths, or a snow plow to remove snow 3 wide

Will it be possible to transport mechs in vehicles at some point?

You’d have to ask Smash Phil on his Vehicles Framework steam page. This is not something in my control.
