Hello everyone and welcome to a brand new poll. The goal of this poll is to help me narrow down the choice of vehicles you expect to see in Vanilla Vehicles Expanded - Tier 3, a submodule to the long awaited Vanilla Vehicles Expanded, which just now cleared the testing stage and went into pre-release stage!

If you're unsure what vehicles are already coming in Tier 1 and 2, you can check the following devblog posts that go into detail about them:

As you can see, tier 1 and 2 are all-round good vehicles that can be used for variety of purposes. While tier 1 is focused on cheap and low-tech gas guzzlers, tier 2 is focused on refined and more complex and expensive alternatives.

Tier 3 is NOT JUST BETTER TIER 2. If it was, I wouldn't need to do a poll. Instead, Tier 3 can be defined as 'vehicles excelling in a particular purpose'. You should not expect a Tier 3 family car, or a Tier 3 van. Tier 3 vehicles are not necessarily high-tech either! Tier 3 vehicles need to be particularly good for one specific type of task, whether it's transport, killing, keeping your soldiers alive or driving very fast.

Tier 3 vehicles are not craftable per se. Instead, player needs to find a wreckage of a tier 3 vehicle and repair it. This will force you to go out into the world to obtain them.

You can read more about that here:

What Tier 3 Vehicles are already confirmed?

I have already created a selection of Tier 3 vehicle that should help you get an idea of what tier 3 vehicles should be. So far, we've got:

An offroad jeep that is extremely efficient when driving off the beaten track. It also has a moderate level of armor to get you out of a dangerous situation.

A springbok classic car, which might not be the most efficient car to drive, but anyone who gets a ride in this bad boy will think happy thoughts for a long time.

A supercar, which is extremely bad when driving off-road, but extremely fast when driving on the roads. It doesn't have a lot of carrying capacity, but it's the fastest vehicle in the game that isn't a helicopter or an airplane.

A big rig, which is a very high cargo vehicle that will be able to drive extremely long distances and deliver all your human leather hats to any trading outposts.

An anti-infantry and anti-air armored vehicle that will be able to shoot down any enemy airplanes when that becomes an option in the Vehicle Framework. Until it does, it's extremely efficient at killing infantry units using quad-linked uranium slug cannons.

A transport helicopter is your go-to if you want to pack a lot of soldiers and fly them to the quest location. Unlike the mosquito, this bad boy can fit up to 8 colonists in it while still keeping space for cargo and loot that you are bound to find.

A Marshal-class battle tank is the ultimate armored warfare solution. Sporting a powerful cannon capable of ripping through enemy armor at ease, Marshal also features a mini-turret machine gun that can fire independently from the main cannon, and is excellent at clearing approaching infantry. As such, Marshal tank requires 3 men (or women, or children if you feel ballsy) to operate it.

What ideas do I have?

I have following ideas for additional tier 3 vehicles, but of course I won't be able to do them all. I'd like you to vote on the ones you think would fit best. The idea is to have a set of vehicles for absolutely any purpose, so please don't only vote on combat vehicles :) Combat is not everything there is in RimWorld!

Self-propelled artillery - An armored artillery vehicle capable of firing mortar shells on the local map. Essentially a powerful mortar on wheels.

Combine harvester - A big combine harvester that automatically harvests any plants it drives over. It still requires manual driving (player needs to command it to drive over the field), but it instantly harvests everything underneath it.

Fighter jet - An extremely fast and powerful, but expensive to run combat aircraft that will be able to run excellent strafing runs when that becomes a thing as a part of Vehicle Framework.

Crop duster - A special, short range bi-plane that can execute a new crop-dusting maneuver, which will have the airplane fly over your map and increase the growth of all currently sown plants by a few percent, similar to the sprinklers in VFE-Farming.

Attack chopper - A combat helicopter that requires two people to fly and features a built-in autocannon. It can land with your troops on an enemy site and provide firing support.

Speeder bike - An extremely fast, single person vehicle that works best on roads.

Hovercraft - A special vehicle that can carry some cargo and troops, and can travel on both water and land. It still can't travel over ocean tiles.

IFV - An infantry fighting vehicle inspired by the Bradley APC. It features a built-in grenade launcher, and can carry a number of pawns safely due to high armor.

Refrigerated Truck - A medium-sized truck with a refrigerated container, allowing you to transport goods that would normally spoil over long distances.

Armored Truck - A medium-sized truck with an armored container, similar to the kinds of trucks that transport money and government bonds. Extremely tough to stop and destroy, it can carry quite a lot of cargo, but may only fit 2 people in.

Whatever we add we have to ask ourselves an important question: how would a deserter use this? Would this be a vehicle a deserter would like to drive? Does this vehicle emit the proper cool vibes a deserter has? Would a deserter drive this vehicle to desert? What could make it more rebellious? The team is pretty brilliant so I trust whatever vehicle they go with will have the proper deserter themes and sub themes available.
