Hey everyone and welcome to another development blog.

As you all probably know, the programmer who worked with us on the Medieval faction mod is currently taking a long break from modding due to personal reasons. This means that the development of the Insectoid faction mod has been temporarily halted - I say temporarily, because we found a new, talented programmer.

To ease him onto map generation (which is one of the hardest tasks for a programmer), we have decided to create a pre-industrial settlers faction, based on the American frontier, Wild West etc.

Diego Dire is a new storyteller that will be introduced with this mod. More about him in the future. We might actually be able to code a little feature, that would make him absolutely unique - same way as Maynard Medieval is.

It's a possibility, not a confirmation, but selecting Diego Dire as your storyteller could make you have good standing with pirates, but bad standing with everyone else. Essentially, it would allow you to roleplay as the outlaws!

These are the new weapons being added to enhance the experience of having pre-industrial factions. Volatile dynamite, hunting rifle, quickdraw revolver, tomahawk and a double barreled shotgun, more about them in the future development diaries.

As it can be seen, some new hats are coming to RimWorld as well! A flatcap for all those deputies and militia officers, a sombrero for pesky banditos, and a bandana covering jaw, that can be equipped with any other hat!

This week we will miss out on TypicalSuggestionTuesday due to a secret project I am working on!

Red Dead Rimworld here we come! Kinda makes me wish we had some more crazy horse patterns to match the ones I ride in that game, I'm a big fan of blue roan appaloosas myself. Overall, very excited for the bandanas, and wondering if, in addition to ambushing, we might have the option to rustle cattle/sheep/megaspiders from nearby colonies to sell for profit.

I am really looking forward to this mod. I find doing missions raiding and trading always the most appealing in my rimworld plays. The events from your medieval mod are great content for this type of gameplay. I am really looking forward for more events. Keep up the awesome work!
