The end of the game was always different, a mixture of elation if we had won and upset if we were defeated. However, the end was different for one of us each week. The last one in to the changing room would always fade away and disappear for the week only to reappear at the next match. Everyone always sprinted to make sure they weren't the last.

We wrongly assumed that it wouldn't happen in the last game of the season, so no one rushed, but still one of us would be last. After all, with no games planned for 4 months where would the last one go? A few weeks back though we discovered a way for us to prevent this from happening. We discovered that if the person fading out touched someone else as it happened they wouldn't disappear. Instead they would take over the body of the person they touched for the week.

It was an accidental body swap as when we came out of each others body after the week, the person who faded would keep the body they controlled and the person who had just had their body invaded for the week took on the body who had faded. We had been doing it for so many weeks now that we had all managed to get back into our own bodies and now the final game had happened we were all safe. Or so we thought.

Joey was the last to walk in to the changing room. He had already partially stripped on the pitch. And wandered in, strutting his stuff as he always did. Darcy noticed he was fading. He raised his hand and offered his help. Joey knew what it meant, and he knew he couldn't disappear for 4 months. Joey and darcy were brothers. I also saw this happening and stood up and began to move towards him.

Joey touched darcy and at exactly the same time I touched him too. The room went into a complete frenzy and it felt like I was being ripped apart, inside out.

Minutes later the room stopped spinning. It was different this time. All 3 of us were still in the room only I was joey, darcy was me and joey was darcy. No one became trapped, but now we had to live each others lives for a few months. Bliss for me!
