Hey!

Attached to this post are the new chapters of Photographed by my Friend, one of my collaborations with BurroGirl18. And in the Discord, I'm about to post a new chapter of Mad Monday for $10+ backers.

A few people have been upset that they're getting charged for content they can't access, so I just wanted to be clear about what's happening: ALL Patrons are charged whenever I write 10,000 words, whether it's Patreon-friendly content or not.

This may seem unfair, but the alternatives are that I only ever write Patreon-friendly content (which excludes most of the stories I'm best-known for) or that I stop posting. It's impossible to charge only for certain tiers, and if I only charge for half of my posts each month, I cannot pay rent!

Hopefully that makes sense - my intent was never to deceive. I'm trying to do everything right by Patreon (if they pull my account, that's it for me! I have to go get a normal job, and can no longer write smut full-time) AND by my Patrons (it's because of your generous support that I'm able to keep doing this!)

I try to balance the types of content I write, but it's a tricky balance. I just want to make sure everyone is getting the best deal they can get!

Thanks so much for your support,

-Pan

I definitely understand your predicament, Pan. I will say that as a $10 subscriber, it would be nice to know the $5 folks were still getting something in each paid update. I know you're dealing with an imperfect system though. I was thinking of suggesting that each paid post includes something for the $5 and something for the $10. So for this last month, maybe each post could have included one of the 'Photographed by My Friend' chapters. But I'm not sure if it is an ideal situation, since you probably don't alternate what you're writing between every chapter, and the paid posts tend to both come out near the end of the month anyway. It is not a good situation, and I wish I had a better suggestion. Happy to keep my pledge at the $10 level though.

What’s confusing me (and perhaps I’m just misremembering) is that I thought that previous to Patreon’s little moralistic fit I was paying $5 per 10k words but I was getting to see all 10k words. Why don’t $5 patrons have access to the discord preview channel? If there’s material posted there that wasn’t previously available to the $5 patrons then why not have two levels of private discord channel or any other kind of private social media?

Right, as an example, in October Mad Monday was included in what $5 backers got.
