Just so y'all know, Dave shares the same VA as Tengen Uzui from Demon Slayer. It's easier to hear the similarity in flashbacks. Meanwhile, Melissa has the same VA as one of Uzui's wives, Makio (the mean one).

Love that you're watching the MHA movies, the 2nd movie is my favorite and the most well-written one imo, its also the one that reused the canceled original ending for the show that you mentioned at the end of this reaction, so I definitely can't wait for you to watch it.

I would love for them to watch the Fate Series ( Aka Fate Zero, Fate Unlimited Blade Works, and Heaven's Feel mainly) and see how that series touches on the definition of hero & justice in comparison to MHA.

This isn’t filler at all Horikoshi himself said that the movie is 100% canon to the manga and that he wrote this movie because he wanted to explore All Mights past, but ran out of time to do it because of where the manga was story wise. He told everyone to go and watch it because it is canon and references it later in the manga as proof

Fun Fact: The credits song for the movie is a different/ extended version of S3 ED2.

Also, while this does take place between seasons 2 and 3, the main reason it's best to watch this movie after waiting to see the tie-in episode is because of the All for One cameo. I personally think it's best to see the movie after All for One's big entrance in the anime.

As for why Uraraka didnt just float them up the building, this is set before their quirk training in early Season 3. It would be bad if shes already sick before they ran into enemies

The difference between here and the camp is they aren’t putting the Pro Heroes pre established rescue plan at risk to satisfy their own egos. They’re trying to free the Pro Heroes so that the Pros can rescue everyone else. Unlike with Bakugo there isn’t anyone else trying to save the hostages

You’ll notice at the end David isn’t in handcuffs because even though he felt responsible he’s at most an accessory as Sam was the one who came up with the idea, planned it, and hired the villains. David only agreed to go along with Sam’s plan because he believed the villains were actors. His testimony, combined with the fact he tried to stop the villains once he learned the truth, and his past contributions to most of i island’s technology, means he’ll likely be given probation and banned from ever setting foot on the island again. He likely won’t face any actual prison time, but his career and reputation will take a significant hit

Hey guys it seems like you only watch dub but I really recommend "All Might Rising" which was released with this movie. I don't think it was ever dubbed but its only a few minutes long and is a must watch for All Might fans

Also Fun Fact: David Shield's Quirk is "Squirmy Fingers", which allows Dave to bend and squeeze his fingers with precise control, helpful in developing his gizmos and hero costumes. Though this was only mentioned in the My Hero "Team-Up Missions" spin-off manga and never mentioned again anywhere else.

Yeah, I was one who kept pushing watching it timeline-wise, but it actually makes better sense to watch it when they did bc of AfO. (I wish they had animated him like the earlier shots with him mostly shrouded in shadow)

I've already been hoping for/suggesting one for the how to train your dragon series (if one/both of you haven't seen them already) I know there's a FMA:B movie (technically there's two, but one is based from the original series and the other is based on brotherhood I believe)

I wouldnt complain about a "Your Name" reaction. Though I will say Im more of "A Silent Voice" kind of guy. The caveat with that one is that it does require some subtitles even if youre watching the dub. It'll definitely hit you pretty hard though. Also basically any reaction by a studio Ghibli film would be awesome, anyone would tell ya that lol.

True. The English VA for Mineta is Brina Palencia. She also voices Nina Tucker in FMA and FMAB, Chopper in One Piece, Chiaotzu in Dragon Ball, and Touka in Tokyo Ghoul.

I know I'm late but all 3 movies are 100% Canon to the series. The author of the manga went out of his way to make small cameos of the movie characters and sorta reference their plot points in the Manga. Whether the anime ever animates those tiny cameos, idk, but they are cameod in the manga. You don't have to disregard anything from them. They're all Canon to the series
