So the whole backstory of Nobara is basically this girl moved to the country side and yes the country folk judged her because they couldn’t handle the idea of change and assumed that Saori would be judgey and think she’s better than them. Nobara says she would’ve died because she doesn’t want to be like anyone in that town. She wants to grow and experience the world, and staying in a small home town like that where everyone just wants everything to stay the same/stick to their prejudices, that’s no place for someone like Nobara. Eventually she would’ve been run down just like Saori. Nobara come off as harsh but she’s a great character and I think you’ll grow to like her more.

Nobara's cool and you'll get used to their whole group dynamic. In a way, she's sort of like Sakura from Naruto in terms of her relationship with Itadori, except she's not down bad and pathetic.

The show will explain how curse techniques work more as it goes on but in general you guys are right to think that they are all kind of unique. People can have the same ones, but there is so many different ones that realistically most people will have their own.

On the topic of curse techniques, Nobara's is actually one of my favorites because its a weird one and I'm a fan of weird powers that have weird edge cases where they shine. Like as we saw, her being able to basically voodoo doll people/curses if she has a part of them. My other favorite (don't worry for people who haven't seen the show yet there's no way you'll guess what it is just from its name) is Boogie Woogie.

They're really well written in the manga but the anime insisted on not using a narrator until season 2. That made us lose a lot of it. Akutami is also writing for a japanese audience so western viewers/readers lacking the cultural subtext is a recurring issue.

In the manga the 'ROOK' Glasses Yuji wears when meeting Kugi were '2018' new year glasses, Idk why they changed it but it establishes the year the story takes place in universe.
