Happy new year Lett's fam!

H-Bomb 24

Happy 2024, guys! Side note: once you guys finish Gravity Falls, you GOTTA check out The Legend of Vox Machina next. Same animation studio as Legend of Korra, familiar voice actors, great characters, set pieces and humor. Not to mention it's a DnD show, so I'm sure you'll have a TON of fun with it, Kenny.

Happy new year guys! Also there's a theory that the laptop didn't actually have an attempt limit. For one, it's weird that the limit would be so huge, considering Dipper's been entering attempts for days. Secondly, Bill only appears in dreams and Dipper was super tired at that time. It's possible he fell asleep right before Bill appeared and we just saw it transition into his dream. And then there's the timer advancing too fast.

Big K

I’d love if you watched Amphibia. TOH, Gravity falls and Amphibia are kinda the triumvirate of really good kids shows

Big K

Yeah nah, bill was never actually banished from the real world. He didn’t get what he wanted from Gideon, but he chose to leave after their fight in Stan’s mind. He is alive and well

The Lorax

You guys might have caught it, but both times Bill appears to talk to Dipper, its right after Dipper has nodded off. Bill isn't actually there, but in the split second that Dipper closed his eyes because he's exhausted, he was able to show up and warp reality because its actually in the dreamworld. This also means Dipper was tricked about the laptop running out of tries. Think about it, he had tried thousands of passwords already, clearly there wasn't some fail safe on the laptop. But right before that moment, he closed his eyes from exhaustion, and then the laptop suddenly says he has one more try, with a count down, and Bill is right there? Sus

Scar

Ah yes, just what I paid for the patreon for, Kenny's feet...

Bryan

I’ve noticed the YouTube comments be spoiling when you do the live premiers. Id try not to read them much if you can.

Juan Solo

I really liked Montana's take on the sibling/twin dynamic. It's something I never thought about but makes a lot of sense looking back on the show. Also, Happy New Year!

Scar

The fact he blurred them is so funny lol, like yes you need a whole new tier for that content Kenny know your worth!

Gestrid

I'm pretty sure the credits scene was a reference to The Muppet Show. McGucket and Stan standing in for Statler and Waldorf were dead giveaways.

Big K

hear me out, highest tier, $25 a month “Toebenders”

Jocelyn Thompson

please add RWBY to the potential shows to watch next, you guys will LOVE it!

Jaelyn Mcgee

I wouldn't be surprised if Gabe Benson was a Several Times Clone.

I would reccomend giving Bojack Horseman a check out at some point, since Mabel's VA plays a pretty important role in that one as well, though warning it does get pretty dark

One interesting note for you guys -- when Bill gives his little speech about how many times Dipper has sacrificed for Mabel, he shows us three instances: Dipper saving her in Tourist Trapped, Dipper giving in so that she can win Waddles in Time Traveler's Pig, and Dipper helping her to get Mermando to freedom in The Deep End. And the thing about those examples is, they're all examples of times when, objectively, Dipper *should* have been helping her. That is, he didn't make sacrifices to help her with frivolous things (like in this ep, with her crush on Gabe). In the first ep, he's rescuing her from what he thinks is an undead monster. There's no actual "sacrifice" there, really. (He tried to warn her, but in fact, what he was warning her about wasn't accurate.) It's hard to argue that he shouldn't have tried to save her from the gnomes, you know? In both Time Traveler's Pig and The Deep End, what Dipper wants (and is sacrificing) is trying to get with Wendy -- a goal that we know is important to him, but that we also know is not going anywhere. I mean, we all knew that WAY before Into the Bunker; we knew she was too old for him, even if he didn't (or wasn't admitting it to himself). In TTP, what he's really trying to do is manipulate events to keep Wendy from making a choice he doesn't like (dating Robbie). Is that really all that fair to Wendy? In The Deep End, he's trying to keep a job just so he can hang out with Wendy; but that doesn't really stack up against helping Mermando escape from the pool to get back to his family, you know? Our show knowledge does inform our reactions to those as well. We know that Mabel winning Waddles wasn't just a one-off thing that she wanted and that she and the show would then forget. Waddles becomes a regular in the cast and has some other important plot-related roles in later episodes (like "The Land Before Swine"). In the case of The Deep End, we know that Wendy lost the job the very next day anyway; Dipper trying so hard to keep it wouldn't have gotten him anywhere in the long run, in terms of hanging out with Wendy. So it's just interesting that the three examples Bill picked to show during that sequence are all ones that you can argue aren't good examples of what Bill is trying to prove. Surely Bill could have shown examples where Dipper really did sacrifice something for Mabel, when what Mabel wanted really wasn't important. So I wonder why Bill picked those examples? Or, why did the show pick those examples? IMO, it was to signal to viewers that Bill is being manipulative towards Dipper, and doesn't have Dipper's best interests at heart. Which we know, and which is proven seconds later when we see what Bill really intends to do. Bill likes to use lies and half-truths to manipulate, and this is another example of it.
