I feel like with l being blue and light being red, both have similar personalities, but their outlooks contrast completely. masuda comes across as a human, someone thats in the middle, not all good and not all bad, but thats just my take, havent really fleshed it out much

2023-11-12 06:22:07 So this is like my, 5th? 6th? time "rewatching" this show and I JUST NOW realize the double reason of Light saying the useless pride and get rid of it line, because I also thought he was just trying to sneak those words in but nO Light knew he would act different and possibly plead to L so he gave a reason for him to suddenly act strange 🤯

2023-11-12 06:22:07 Also my own personal theory as to why L kept dragging on the 'light is Kira' and didn't explain his reasoning to the others (because I'm positive he could've convinced them if he explained how and what) is because he came to like Light since they're on the same level of genius and if he "caught" kira he would no longer have that brain stimulus from working against Light I also know a TON of people who stopped watching after this episode because they were like "what's the point"

I personally only ever rewatch the series to this point. This is because I was a Kira supporter through and through. But I also love L as a character. If Light was going to lose in the end it should have been to L, not a far less interesting version of him at the end of a sub-par second half to the series. As someone who rooted for Light, it pisses me off that Light lost, not because he lost, but because of who he lost to.
