What do you guys think of Light´s interesting perception of self in some of his inner monologues?Like overanalysing asking for L´s country of origin even though it would be a perfectly ´´normal´´ question for Light to ask given the information L provided. Also his recurring theme of distancing himself from the person he spent most of his life being, like having thoughts on ´´what soichiro yagami´s son would do in a situation as such´´almost like that person doesnt exist anymore and he has to try his best to just mimic him in situations.Do you think that way of thinking is delibarate as in to avoid any slip ups or is it done subconsciously?

L and Light battle wits throughout this episode. From the tennis match to the cafe scene, both attempt to remain ahead of the other’s curve and we get a sense of what their cat and mouse game will be like in the other’s presence. Who do you have your money on coming out on top as of now, if either of them at all?

It makes sense why L would want to get close to Light, since he is the pursuer in the classic sense. That being said, do you think Light is being too confident or even conceited thinking he won’t get caught even walking into the lions den (HQ)?
