no spoilers cause I've only watched up to where they are currently but its mentioned briefly in ep 5 that when they join they are given access to all kinds and don't have to specify as for learning before they choose the emperors coven Ive no idea lol

My sister works with kids to help their mental health. This care is paid for by the government here (UK) so the schools don't have to pay for it and it is SHOCKING how many schools say "no thanks, our students don't have any mental health problems"

Usually transformation sequences are referencing Sailor moon, but I'm not entirely sure about this one so you could be correct!

It seems to be a bit of both. On youtube there are several videos of comparisons with She-ra's transformation and it does seem to be a reference. On the other hand, She-ra's always seemed to me similar to the Sailor Moon of the 90s. (Note that when I talk about She-ra, she is from the reboot series, not from the 80s)

She-Ra was K&M's first "magical girl" transformation, so that would be their go-to reference. There have been transformations since the 60s, but Sailor Moon laid the foundation for the "modern style", with traveling shots moving along with the transformation effect, etc. Everything that came after borrowed from that visual style and choreography (on both sides of the Pacific).

Absolutely love the hit rate on the jokes where on average at least once an episode, y'all just have to pause and wheeze about some joke. Also, yes, the shots at another popular wizard story/universe do come up every now and then and they are always hilarious.

A lot of characters surprise me in The Owl House. And Principal Bump is definitely one of them; he's set up like the typical oppressive administrator, but even his first appearances show he's a lot more caring and reasonable than the type.

Yeah the magical girl transformation is fairly standard and most of the modern ones reference Sailor Moon directly or reference something that referenced Sailor Moon itself.
