Arcane is a masterclass of asking complex questions surrounding situations in our world today; without giving you answers. We’re given character perspective on why they think something is good or bad, but it’s not answered straight out and we’re always provided with additional viewpoints. Is nuclear armament the right answer? Can someone be forgiven for past mistakes? Is there a point where you have to say that family isn’t everything? Do the ends justify the means? Should we go to any lengths to explore technology expansion or should there be limits? Is there anything from this show that has helped solidify your viewpoint, or have you seen your own viewpoints changed? Something I found that changed for me is the parallels that can be made between hextech and nuclear weapons. I think the show writers wanted to clearly make you think about this with Oppenheimer and Heimerdinger being so closely named together. My job in the military has made it so I’ve spent the last four years working in ground zero secure facilities; whether that is state side or overseas. Meaning that I’ve spent the last four years knowing any day I could be the place that a nuke hits. I’ve always been fine with that, and have long defended nuclear armament for ourselves and our allies. I found myself always agreeing with Mel, and disagreeing with Heimerdinger. As I’ve had time to sit on the show and reflect and have seen the destructive results; I’ve seen my opinion change.

Arcane does a excellent job at making references from the show’s source material, especially with the characters’ signature items and weapons: - Vi with her gauntlets and nickname for Caitlyn - Caitlyn with her rifle and top hat in Episode 2 - Jayce with his hammer - Ekko with his pocket watch - Jinx with her minigun Pow-Pow, rocket launcher Fishbones, and theme song in Episode 4 - And several other references that may be considered spoilery for Season 2 Did you, as casual viewers of Arcane, ever feel alienated from the hardcore League of Legends fanbase?
