One aspect of entrapta to remember too js she is nuerodivegent so she doesn't always relate to other people the way they expect and there's a communication barrier just due to that. Entrapta doesn't say she's focusing on glimmer or her friends this mission before near the end bjt that doesn't mean she isn't. Just when she speaks she's going focus on what's immediately around her and stuff.

Stephen Ray

We've gotten to the point in the series where I get a little misty-eyed thinking about what's coming up. It's so good!

TrixieTurner

The entrapta princess friendship does tend to feel pretty one sided and I'm not the biggest fan of it.

fr0st

It's so great that there's a character like Entrapta in this. If you show this to a neurotypical person, they would probably get quite annoyed and frustrated secondhand with Entrapta. However, we actually get an insight into her character where she is legitimately worried about Glimmer and wants to save her, but has that hyperfocus where she tends to forget what's going on around her. The princesses try to push her into approaching the problem the way they do, but finally learn that it's best to utilise their individual ways to support each other works best. They can watch out for external factors and dangers around them and deal with them, leaving Entrapta free to focus intensely on the problem she's solving. Imagine being able to show this to a kid who's frustrated with how a neurodiverse friend operates and giving them an example to see that we're just different and approach the same core things (Caring about friends, wanting to help a friend) in different ways and it's not bad or wrong to play to those strengths and support each other.

fr0st

Also SO EXCITED for the next episode and beyond. We're really starting to get into the excellent stuff now.

Stephen Ray

One thing about Micah is he is royalty by marriage (to Angella), so he was never the ruler of Brightmoon. Kind of like the Queen Mother was in the UK. He probably advised the queen, but may have been more active in the war than in running the kingdom.

fr0st

It's one-sided if you are judging it by the standards of the neurotypical princesses, yes. Entrapta views it different and we can see she's trying to support and help her friends the way that she can, and it's not the way that the others understand.

TrixieTurner

@fr0st no you misunderstand I meant it's one sided on the sides of the princesses not entrapta.

TrixieTurner

Yeah although I do feel like show could have a bit more effort on the others trying to work with and understand entrapta.

EXCITED FOR THE NEXT EPISODE

Robin B

Oh god, between Memories of the Future for AOT and Corridors for She-Ra, I can't wait to see your next reactions!

calcifer

I really hope you guys talk about the religious- (specifically Christian) coding of Horde Prime at some point. The whole "little sister/brother" thing is reminiscent of nuns being called sisters and monks being brothers. "Remade in my image," "I am merciful," "begin anew" (a la Noah and the ark), being all-seeing and all-knowing, etc. There's so much religiosity going on with Prime, and there'll be more as we go! I'd love to hear your thoughts on how it all ties into themes of identity, autonomy, destiny, power structures, authority figures, etc.

YOU JUST DROPPED THIS AND MY FAVORITE EPISODE IS NEXT? WEEKEND MADE, THANK YOU

lisadeann

yesss the next episode is my second favorite of the showww its so good! first fav is ep 5 of season 5 :)

SweetCandle

I think calling the clones "Brother" and Catra "Little Sister" denies them any individual worth, and defines them solely by their connection to Prime.

B Luna

you guys are the best!!

Jenny D

Last week you had me thinking this episode wouldn’t be out til like next week (and that Corridors wouldn’t be out until May)! Bout to rearrange my whole afternoon to watch this right now!

Sero

So very HYPED to see y'all react to Corridors! Which I'm sure many, many others have said but I'm just.. so excited. That and.. episode 5.. >:)

William Timmins

Love your reactions, and yes, hope you guys are doing well!

JHB

next up: The point where we all hop on a toboggan ride down Mount Everest.

hex

ohhh my godddd Corridors is next I'm so sane and normal 😶

hex

I don't really think that's true either. They have a right to be mad at her, especially Mermista, considering it was her technology that aided the Horde and led it to be as strong as it was leading up to Prime. and I say this as a huge Entrapta fan. They didn't understand her at first, but once they got those emotions out in the open, they're all able to move past it and begin to understand each other better. There's just not enough time in the series for them to dive deeper into this, but I think this episode shows that they want to make an effort to be better friends to each other.

Ben Torres

Can’t believe we’re almost at Episode 3! Here comes the big one! I cant wait I’m so excited!

Jakob Yates

Yesss, especially because the creator said a lot of the aesthetics of his ship are inspired by megachurches.

JHB

Fun fact: "Kid leashes" (actual term: tether) had indeed been in use before the time when Kenny might have been on one. But not by a whole lot -- Maybe 10 years before toddler-Kenny. So he could have been. He just wasn't.

Fallofrome

I think it's also a power thing. Prime reads Catra like an open book. He sees her ambition and self preservation and discounts her immediately. She's no threat to him. Even though Shadow Weaver and Hordak were Catra's superiors in the Horde she never treated them as such. She was never truly afraid of them despite Shadow Weaver's abuse. She didn't get afraid, she got angry and bitter. Prime and Catra's dynamic is completely different. By calling her Little Sister Prime is letting Catra know that he sees her and is not even slightly intimidated. Catra clocks quickly that her normal tactics won't work here and for the first time she's truly out of her depth. That's why I love Prime as a villain. He's on a different level. Catra to him is amusing, little more than a pet or plaything. She's little, she's small, she's insignificant to him. That's the dynamic that Prime is getting across. He's telling Catra that she exists only as long as he wills it and Catra knows it. For the first time in her life she is totally devoid of agency and that freaks her out.

Corridors is one of my best episode from the show

Stephen Ray

Me before kids: "Kid leashes, how barbaric!" Me after kids: "Kid leashes. Literally a life saver."

fr0st

Yeah, I used to be young and stupid and judge people with kid leashes but them had to look out for one young child in a crowded shopping mall and wished I had a goddamn leash because they are fast and chaotic!

Werrf

On the question of leadership of the Rebellion - Micah absolutely has more experience as a *political* leader, but relatively little experience as a general - and what experience he did get is way out of date. Mermista's tactical knowledge is definitely greater. Having Micah as the overall commander - the same role Angella used to fill - while Mermista is the field commander makes the most sense.
